If you would play your own game, especially pvp, just for a few minutes instead of bringing useless costumes and rides you would realise it's just a zerg infested unbalanced lagfest. It is just sad to see what became of pvp in this game, especially from the point of view of a breton magicka dk. I could even live with unbalanced classes zergs etc. but the lag kills everything for me. If i would be a part of your company, i would be ashamed to take money from customers, especially from pvpers.

PvP used to be like this every single day. Drinks were terrible so no one used them, heavy armor was actually decent and skilled players showed their 'skill' through dynamic ultimate generation which made sense. Also, do you notice how much better the lighting is there?

Sometime after, this was considered too fun and with the long term health of the game in mind, softcaps were violentely removed and PvPers were looked down upon like serfs.

"Let me tell you something, Imperial City is just a PvE zone with PvP thrown in..." paraphrased, many of you know who said this, it makes my heart weep and my soul cries out for the Konk to fix lack of soft caps amongst many other things.

My cries go out unheard as the darkness violentely caresses the flesh off of my bones, I scream out in pain, in agony; "No ZoS! Pls no! I subscribed since early access! I even bought Crowns! Pls have mercy!"
My screams echo out into the nothingness as an infinite amount of voices laugh, cackle, giggle, wail and mutter numerous odd phrases such as "Increase Crown Store sales through making Cosmetics incredibly inconvenient to obtain in-game!", "PvPers suck!" and many more unsightly remarks.

Where do we all see PvP a year from now? We waited over a year and a half for PvP content with Imperial City.

Is there a future for PvPers? Do they care about us?

PvP in a year? There won't be any because people will have given up by then and hopefully move on to CU.
I'm starting to think that this is ZoS plan all the way: Getting rid of those pesky PvPers (And PvEer like trialsraiders and stuff) so they can just focus solely on the casuals and don't have to deal with us.

Well, I didn't notice the lag either; I noticed that there was none and it reminded me of the times when I experienced no lag gameplay.

I still haven't figured out why softcap removal was done.

    Did it accomplish anything positive?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

I do not like the "I wanna rob and kill NPCs and/or PCs" mentality either.

In "normal" Cyrodiil, because 1-I'm unskilled in PvP (it's a very different style than PvE and calls for much quicker reflexes among other things) and 2- its such a long "ride back" to anywhere, I generally avoid PvP like the plague. Too stressful, not fun.

But in IC, you don't go "far" when you die/respawn, and now with the less damage/less healing, fights take longer, so there is less on the line, it's less scary and less "die and I don't know what happened.

I've heard dozens of folks tell me they loved PvP cause it takes more skill, but before IC all that meant to me was someone ganks me, I die, have no idea what happened and no opportunity to learn how to do it.

Since playing in IC, now In a weird way, I'm starting to "get it".

Today a friend and I were in IC and after we had done a writ (repeatable quest) we wandered around in the sewers (the more "dangerous" uncontrolled part of the map) and encountered another player of an opposing alliance. I was playing a DK, my friend was playing a templar, this guy was a NB, and a really good one. All things being equal, a 2-1 fight should have the "one" losing. Add to that, he was lvl 22, and I'm vet 1, my friend is vet 16.

This guy was amazing. Using cloak, fear, situational awareness of what to duck behind to get out of line of sight. I had tab/targeted him and he somehow threw it off 3 times. We were so totally outclassed by this low level character that it was really astonishing, but partly because of the damage mitigation and the 2v1ness, we didn't die right away and got treated to an amazing exhibit of gaming skill.

After I died, I game-mailed him to compliment his skills.

Players need limits (like soft caps) why becuase ZOS can't predict every build... they still think we be using elemental wall in pvp to "melt" players.

Thanks for this. One day I suppose I'll buy IC but in the meantime I'd like to go "back" to Cyrodiil without being crushed by silly players who go there just to have fun killing other players. Too much like in real life for me, if you catch my drift.

I am a member of two guilds that do a lot of PvP and they do have some leaders that will do some teaching - but I don't know them all - I'm not on super often - I'm not part of the "main cliques" so I now have found that getting a generous to newbies (i.e. patient AND communicates and teaches well) raid/group leader is fairly rare. They are out there, though.

I'd urge you to keep trying.

There are some groups like M4D (mostly EP, mostly Haderus and somewhat Chillrend) who as well as being a guild, will also encourage anyone to join in their groupings to take back keeps and whatnot (you don't have to be a guild member). They have a teamspeak account, and some of the leaders are really good teachers (if you have the chance to join a group led by Sable Huntress - go for it - he's totally awesome at the leading/teaching thing).

When you are in your character screen (inventory or mail or any of that), look for the castle icon (something like that) and it will be the cyrodiil choice. On the leftish side of that subscreen will be a list of campaigns, and if you open them up, right click on the name of the campaign (it will be to the rightish), and you should get something like enter as group or individual. Go ahead and enter as individual (it doesn't matter - much - where you start) and you will go to one of the home base locations for your alliance. There should be some tags and you should have a tutorial that will run you through the basics, including test firing various siege equipment.

There should be some skill points in it, and a few skyshards close to your home keeps. Also you'll unlock volunteer white, which I liked in terms of the dye station.

@Teiji, that vid, omg the feels. That just highlights soooo much how PvP performance has gotten progressively worse in this game ever since launch.

Amazing when you think about all the factors that kept things lag free:
    - Lots of aoes had NO cap.
    - People assumed that there was NO aoe cap, because ZOS specifically told us there was NO aoe cap back in beta, so people weren't balling up into cheese wheels when fighting other groups.
    - Most likely, much more server capacity was dedicated to Cyrodiil back on launch than now
    - The stupid anti bot system hadn't been put in place to move god knows how many calculations from client to server side.

At 4 minutes and 45 seconds I literally choked up remembering those days back in Beta.

Good god this game was alive then. Two years ago... how far it has fallen. Hell I have seen armies twice that size rolling from Roebeck to Nikel at the start of open beta... a literal 300 man army, most on white horses, the others running... and the battles were insane.

At the eight minute mark you can really see clearly just how far performance has fallen, just in rendering. There are over 100 players on screen running around in that keep, and everything is loaded, everything is running fine, no stutter. What the hell ZoS. You had it....

Judging by all the low levels there it shows that most of the laggy AoEs are not in place hence no lag.

Meteor, impulse, proxy det and any other AoE with masses of lights should be limited to how must they project etc maybe?

My screams echo out into the nothingness as an infinite amount of voices laugh, cackle, giggle, wail and mutter numerous odd phrases such as "Increase Crown Store sales through making Cosmetics incredibly inconvenient to obtain in-game!", "PvPers suck!" and many more unsightly remarks.

Where do we all see PvP a year from now? We waited over a year and a half for PvP content with Imperial City.

Is there a future for PvPers? Do they care about us?

don't worry, we will have more games if it comes to that.
