Temp DPS Build

Excuse the lack of flare with this post, my Temp is embarrassingly low level, though I have done some research and testing into a very good Templar DPS build, and have found one.

Abilities-

Gear-
Currently, some of the best and easiest gear to get would be 5 piece Kagrenac's Hope, 3 piece Arcane Willpower, 2 piece Nerieneth, with 2 swords of Torug's Pact for both bars. You do want to run with 5 light, 1 Heavy, and 1 Medium (if possible: heavy chest, and medium pants, thouh your Helm and Shoulder drops will determine that). All gear traits should be infused on large, divines on small, with Nirnhoned on the swords, or sharpened if you can't find or afford Nirnhoned. All gear enchants should be maximum magicka, all weapon enchants should be absorb magicka, and jewelry enchants should be spell damage.

After Orsinium is launched, you will still want 2 piece Nerieneth, 2 swords of Torug's Pact, and 3 piece Arcane Wllpower. You should drop the Kagrenac's, in favor of 5 piece Julianos.

Stats-
All magicka, all the time.

Mundus-
If crit<50%, use the Thief. If crit>50% use the one that increases your spell damage.

Champion Points-
Here is where it gets interesting, lets start with the Mage trees. Because all the damage you deal is Magic damage, you want to put points into Thaumaturge... except all the passives the Ritual tree are useless for you. Start by putting 30 points into Spell Erosion (in the APprentice tree) for the Spell Crit boost passive (12% more spell crit!). After that, put all your points into Thaumaturge until you have 100 points in it, then go back to Spell Erosion for the last 37 points. (if you are at 501 CP cap, you have 167 points to spend, 30+100+37=167)

In the Warrior tree, start with 30 points into Quick Recovery within the Lord, the extra healing helps keep you alive, and the Lord passives make your revives better (something as a DPS [and a freaking templar] you should be doing in the event someone near you dies). After that, put 25 points into Hardy, Elemental Defender, and Thick Skinned. Lastly, go back to the Lord, and put all the rest of your points into quick recovery. (30+25+25+25+62=167)

For the thief Tree, we get boring. 100 points into the magician first, followed by 67 points into the Arcanist.

Explanation-
This build marvels in its simplicity. Bar 1 is your single target bar, benefiting from the increased magicka and regen from having a third mages guild ability, as this is the bar where you spend most of your time.Purifying light aides the entire group by quickly adding almost 20k damage and healing in an AoE. Structured entropy should be kept up at all times, as it increases the damage of your spells by 20%, and grants the next spell you cast Empowerment (as does Dark Flare). The single target rotation is simple, Channeled Focus > Structured Entropy > Blazing Spear > Structured Entropy > Dark Flare > repeat until execute, at which point cast Radiant Oppression until dead. This rotation keeps empowerment as close to 100% uptime as possible, helping to optimize your damage. While doing single target, you'll almost never hit with your swords, this is a ranged bar.

Bar 2 is for your AoE, and generally doesn't require much. The rotation here is even more simple, and goes: Structured Entropy > Blazing SPear > Puncturing Sweeps until mobs are dead, throwing spears as necessary. Easy. If you want to get clever, you can weave medium attacks with your puncturing sweeps, which is where the absorb magicka enchants come in handy - dealing magic damage, and restoring your magicka.

You generally never actually want to cast Ice comet, but just having it on your bar will help your DPS a little bit. You will want to obtain potions that Increase spell power, and restore max magicka, and keep them at 100% uptime during boss fights. With this build, using v15 Health/Magicka food, in v16 legendary gear with legendary enchants, you should have 40k or more magicka, and 16k Health.
Deep down, you know I'm right... at least in part. Which part is unimportant, I'm still right.
