It's ridiculous that I get punished because I know how to make paragraphs and write using complete sentences. Hey ZOS, double the space in the MOTD so I can actually put in the important information that I need! It's hard enough running a guild already and this is just so stupid it's unreal.
It's also awesome the we can get kicked for inactivity while typing the MOTD. I'm trying to fit what I need to say into seemingly only 26 characters and I get booted for inactivity; thus, making me type the whole thing again. It's fkn stupid and should be changed.

Marrtha✭✭✭✭Instead of ranting, try putting together the MOTD in some text editing program and then copy paste it.
If you are as literate as you state here, then you should be able to express everything you need to say in a short message.

Trade Guilds are not the same as Guilds that do end game content together. OPs concern is valid if you are trying to do something like listing times for events and in different time zones, and this is just a small example. Message of the day isn't just for "funsies", it can seriously help you get more organized. Because not everyone is going to visit your guilds site all the time. The best information should always be made available in game, this makes people less clueless and like I said more organized. Less confusion, better Guild overall.4 -

Nah, because in a trade guild what could they possibly say that would be important? Weekly lotto, ummm no. Days until your kicked if not active enough, not really, did i mention the lotto notices? No, i will pass on it all.0 -

The guilds you are in obviously lack in creativity and imagination :-) Mine always have some sort of nice, funny or important news or fun gossip to share, and they organize all kinds of events besides raffles. MOTD is also used to announce changes in guild's policy or officers' team, inform about the guild's financial situation, hired traders, etc. , all of which is important to me.
Some people will never read it and that's their choice, but it find it truly annoying that they spam the guild chat as soon as they log in with "hey, how come we've got no trader this week ?" when it's all explained in MOTD...
