I'm ecstatic about the release of new motifs (Xivkyn, Glass, Mercenary, Ancient Orc), except for one major aspect: with IC's update, the grind and crafting investment to make a VR16 item has risen ridiculously. This applies to both resources (ingot, leather, cloth, wood) and the time investment to get the new motifs.
Given the time investment, I'd like to push (as many others have before me) to allow for item re-forging, allowing us to change motifs on an item. I'm totally fine with there being a cost involved, but for those who dumped almost 1,000 ingots into a set of armor, tempered everything to gold... it'd be nice to allow them a chance to reforge the item. Or, as other MMOs have done, allow us to craft and design costume slots.
And look, I get it. ZOS needs to make money, and the in-game costumes are a great way to do that. But consider allowing costume slots to item reforging to be an ESO subscriber perk. I think I'd rage if I went through the in-game time investment to get a full glass motif, crafted everything, then a month later a new motif I REALLY wanted to get my hands on came out and... whelp. Outta luck.
I'm not asking for trait changing. We all know traits are part of the grind (even if I hate it), but the motif is COMPLETELY visual. Help us, Obi Wan Rich Lambert, you're our only hope! Add value to the ESO subscriber system, and make many players happy.
