Weapon swap on ps4

In the beginning I rarely used weapon swap because I was still learning and only really used a few skills. Now that I'm past the newbie stage I'm using constant weapon swaps and playing around with different skill combinations for both bars. Overall I like this system but have found the button needed to swap weapons is in an awkward spot. I have to take my thumb off of the left stick in order to hit the left button. Most situations require me to keep moving so this is not the best spot to map this command.

Is anyone else having this problem? If so where do you think the weapon swap command button should be?

Using the custom button mapping of the ps4, I moved weapon swap to R3 and crouch to left on dpad. Plays much better and allows for weapon changes on the move.

To remap buttons go settings > accessibility > button assignments.

    Hope this helps.

That sounds pretty good ( in at work so can't test it other than imagining ). Would take a little bit to get used to but I think that might be the best spot

I've never had an issue with where it's at and I swap weapons frequently on ps4
Play on PS4 I do like the game, I just feel it could be a lot better and would like to feel like the devolpers actually care about the game and not just making money

YOU CAN DO THAT??????????????? I've been wanting to swap the crouch and weapon swap buttons and never thought it was possible. IF you are telling the truth then you just saved a life you have no idea.......

What are these shenanigans? Button remapping? Definitely an exploit!

Make sure you enable the shortcut for the quick menu. The controller remapping is a system level option so it will change those buttons for every game you play. As a result if you enable the quick menu option you can hold your PS button for 2s and scroll to the bottom to quickly enable/disable it. This makes switching games incredibly easy since you can turn off the custom remapping as needed while the game loads. I hope this helps.

So the remapping is system wide for my ps4 and all games?? That's weird..

Ok I'll play around with this when I get home. Thanks for the heads up

Does this affect navigating through menus? Will I have to click R3 to go left in a menu rather than the left directional arrow?

Yes, it swapped the input functions for all apps.

Yeah it will universally swap inputs until you untick the box to disable remapping.

I do as Hiero_Glyph describes above and assign the function to a quick menu. I also navigate menus and such using the left analog stick instead of the dpad.

It's not a perfect system but it does the basics well.

Firmware based remapping has been on ps4 for at least 6 months, but it affects everything not just 1 game
