Favorite npc dialogue example: "I bet you have to study to be a half wit."
Yea, the dialogue is a tad condescending.

I really wouldn't mind if I could be rude right back, but too often you have to suck it up with some dialog that is completely out of character to my image of my RPG character.

Even in Skyrim, when we were the only one Dovahkiin savior of the world, the universe and everything else, some NPCs talked to us like we were the worst scumbags.
I kinda like that ! :-) These dialogues are fun.

What? Somebody stole your sweetroll?
:-P
It wasn't what you said, it was the way you said it. He could see the rudeness and thinly-veiled contempt in your eyes.Tannakaobi wrote: »What? Somebody stole your sweetroll?

Have an awsome for a great insult. But this is my point, you had a reason to say such a thing. Often in the game it seems out of place.
Such as my example. None of my dialog was rushed or rude. He just asked for my manners out of the blue, as if I was rude or something. Again, I wouldn't mind if it was the consequence of me picking a rude dialog beforehand, but it wasn't.

I actually like that some people do not recognize me. They have no freaking way to know who am I and what I have been up to. I am not that guy from tv or something. It actually bothers me when some guy instantly recognises me as that guy that saved those chickens halfway across the continent. How the snip would they know?
Well, mirrors aren't that common, and you could be an orphan, so it is theoretically possible that even as a bosmer you've never seen a wood elf before...[Some of the comments are extra funny in some circumstances.
Like when my bosmer templar goes sell her loot in Mournhold and the clothier asks "What? Have you never seen a wood elf before?" :-P

No, you aren't the only Vestige, there are thousands of us heroes out there. Don't expect the world to fall at your feet. (And no you aren't going to become guildmaster of the Fighter's Guild or archmage of the Mage's Guild either, you are just another recruit like the rest of us).

Have you ever played a TES game where any village/town has not at least one of all races in it? Skyrim and Khajiit is probably the closest, but it's not like they stand outside every town/village in tents... oh wait!

I dunno, all I'm saying is that if someone was trying to save the life of my mother or someone close, I would treat them with respect.

Technically there is only one Vestige in the lore.

Maybe you would.
I work in a very multicultural environment, and for some cultures, and some genders it is very important to retain an attitude of .... awareness of the inherent superiority of the speaker (no, I don't actually work with dunmer, but it could be an apt comparison) ESPECIALLY if getting help from them.
