Has ESO's memory size been reduced?

Hi , some of my friends who bought the game now and are downloading it on Steam, noticed that its only total 35 GB download -29 GB from steam download and 6 more from the launcher while some months ago it was 54 GB total - 49 GB from steam and 6 from launcher. Then i went to my hard drive to check and its total 34,2 GB now it was a lot more before. So Disney finally managed to reduce the game size?
