Can't sell item

Cannot sell level 2 item collar of bones. Drops from wailing prison. Is this a glitch or just not sellable?
I woke up in a forest but I was all alone. Death surrounds me but it's all I know.

    Many trophies aren't sellable. Usually they have a value of zero gold. You'll need to destroy it to get out of your inventory.

    So not really a bug just freakishly annoying.

    Cant remember offhand but check to see if its BoE, Bind on Equip and if you have equipped it, then its not sellable.

    If the item has no value and is bound it cannot be sold. You can either bank it to use on a alt or destroy it.

    You can actually put it in your bank and save it.

    It's bound if you ever wore it, meaning you can't sell it in guild, but you should still be able to sell it to a merchant, shouldn't you?

    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    Yes it's a necklace. That's probably why I couldn't sell it because it's a tutorial item. I did not realize that there were such items. Appreciate it case closed.

    If you never equipped it you can sell it (I did).

    I have one from an alt that I never used, and it does say Bind on Equip. The ones I have used say Bound. I haven't tried vending the unbound one (or selling any of them to NPCs for that matter).

    It's received in the tutorial - stuff from the tutorial is not sellable, right at the start gold sellers would start 1 character after another, get the tutorial gear and vendor it, delete character and start another, quickly racking up gold - so none of the quest gear from the tutorial can be vendored for that reason.
