Skyrim Traits vs Eso Traits

AssassinTheMage
Now, do not make me out to be anti-ESO because that is not the case, but we all know some things from the Skyrim "main frame" had to be left out to make up for the "online" portion of ESO. I am just curious what it is you miss the most....For instance, my brother wanted to be an archer, he liked seeing how the archer played in Skyrim and tried it out. He does not like ESO archer for the fact that when he shoots an arrow at a door, the arrow does not stick in the door.

Surprisingly enough, this was a very tiny piece of ES he missed from Skyrim. I want to know what yours are.

In Skyrim you could shoot a target from a good distance away. ESO about 10 ft away. With daggers you had to be up close and personal in Skyrim. ESO they could hit you no matter how far you run, except for the red circle spin, you can dodge roll from that.

The best by far is heavy armour Skyrim forced you to train in that to get conditioning (or Steed stone) so you could run faster. ESO you can run the same as everyone else with no speed penalties.

The thing I miss most. Dual wielding different spells! Sorcerors do have two hands. You can hold a Destro staff in one hand and a healing spell in the other. Seriously, I want to freeze/ flambé/shock people as well as heal myself and others. Swapping staffs makes no sense.

I dislike the stamina penalties though and balance of classes is an ongoing issue.

I miss the fact Vampires were better, you used to get more resistance to poison and frost but you get nothing to make up for the fact you're so weak to fire.

Followers / Housecarls were pretty good too, would help with the PVE element in Craglorn a touch too.

Was so disappointed by the sorcs summoning spells, didn't really want a crappy clanfear or scamp, I wanted the old style Wraiths or Litches.

I'm sure everyone is missing the Oghma Infinium glitch too. the Daedric quests were pretty damn cool.

I miss the class balance, I've no clue why it seems so difficult for them to get right in ESO but Skyrim had it down cold.
To be honest I miss the game itself as a whole though, if they ever remastered or even just rereleased it for current gen console I'd definitely buy it again.

I was always a Little disappointed with the spell system in TES Games which is due to the poor, too simplistic implementation.

In ESO in exchange I wasn't too happy with the sorcerer class itself.
Reason: The abilities felt way more different and not too simplistic, but focus too much on Shock.
OR: shock dmg works in many different ways, but there is no viable way to play a frost mage as example,
Especially since the Destro Staff abilities are the only way to "change element", and not even that works well since the elemental damage got replaced by magicka dmg etc.
Short: I miss the possibility to focus on paths of either frost elemental/fire elemental/

What I also loved to do: Main Hand 1h weapon and Offhand Spell equipped at same time etc.

    @DRXHarbinger
Just as you mention Daedric quests: An upcoming dlc in the future will provide us Mephalas Realm, a whole new zone dedicated to a daedric prince, sounds a lot like what you are looking for (and me as Dunmer/chimer Fanboy  )

I was thinking more I was missing Mehrunes Razor and Spell Breaker, instakills with a dagger would be pretty awesome even at 1% chance i'd still run it, and the shield would eliminate the need for most to keep spamming shields up and give the desperately needed 3rd attack spell.

Oh and I miss not being able to summon a dragon to come and help me out, imagine that with a few hundred people spammming it out!

I rather liked the spell system in Skyrim. It didn't catch my eye too much in Oblivion, and I've not yet played Morrowind, but playing Skyrim as a mage with a bunch of hotkeys (more than the default amount) is a lot of fun, especially when throwing in shouts.

Obviously that's partially a mod element rather than a vanilla aspect but only due to the amount of hotkeys available by default.

And it always will be because you cannot satisfy the entire playerbase and too many of you are screaming about too much.
I miss the fact Vampires were better, you used to get more resistance to poison and frost but you get nothing to make up for the fact you're so weak to fire.

You mean besides the fact sunlight doesn't kill you in TESO?
I'm sure everyone is missing the Oghma Infinium glitch too.

Ok first of all it was a glitch. Seriously when will you people learn to play a game without exploiting bugs? Secondly how exactly would Oghma Infinium work in TESO? Free Skill Line levels that require absolutely no effort so that a bunch of Lv10 Templars could run around with the Jesus Beam? Work for your power, don't find ways to cut corners...
I miss the class balance, I've no clue why it seems so difficult for them to get right in ESO but Skyrim had it down cold.
To be honest I miss the game itself as a whole though, if they ever remastered or even just rereleased it for current gen console I'd definitely buy it again.

You do realize TESV: Skyrim was the only game in the series that did not have classes right? It was completely freelance. Your "Class" was nothing official but simply a fanbased title depicted from how you spent your Perk Points which eventually was trumped by the Legendary system that enabled you to get them all. No, Skyrim did not have balance because it was a game where you could break your character so hard it was beyond godly. I have a friend who did that all the time using a glitch to get godly gear and I myself went to Whiterun and spammed Harmony during the right time of day to power-level myself into like the 300s or beyond if I so desired thus giving me all the Perk Points I needed to max every single Perk in every constellation in the game.
I was always a Little disappointed with the spell system in TES Games which is due to the poor, too simplistic implementation.

My only input on that is how we have no way to use Frost elemental outside of Destruction Staves, excluding Ice Comet. More than enough Fire skills with Dragonknights getting an entire Skill Line dedicated to it and as you said Sorcerers get an entire Skill Line dedicated to Shock but where's the Ice? Actually made a thread about that at one point if I recall correctly...

No it is possible to apply enough Reduce Spell Cost Enchantments to gear in TESV: Skyrim to completely nullify the costs or come close to basically cast spells infinitely, and that's if you don't level so much you have too much Magicka to lose. You could also abuse a glitch that lets you put enchantments on your gear that are so strong nothing could compare, such as way too much Health, Magicka, or Stamina and of course way beyond -100% Spell Cost.
This is awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. But something I miss, at the end of quests you always got a chest full of some good stuff or a bunch of okay stuff. I also miss housing (even if it might be in the making.) I also miss the old enchanting system. This new one is just not quite there, IMOP.

Why because you can't break it and exploit it? Pfft.

I agree on the rush part as I've seen people blazing their way through all of these. I miss the slow sneak that you did through the entire dungeon in Skyrim while exploring. Since we don't have instanced dungeons, if you try to take your time with one, someone else just runs past you in an attempt to open all the containers first. ESO would be SOOOO much more fun if all Delves/Group dungeons were instanced for just you and your group. They could have made them longer and you wouldn't have to worry about some tool running ahead of you to loot an item first.

Something else that I miss, if you look at the faces in ESO, they all look like they have on make-up. I mean, even some of the orcs look somewhat decent. Now, in Skyrim I actually looked for the prettiest, least annoying woman to marry before doing so. I LOOKED for my wife, in ESO I feel like all players virtually are "pretty."

@Robo_Hobo hey there, a little tip: Only play Morrowind if you are interested in the lore a lot, not for the gameplay. As much of a TES fan I am (and morrowind being my favourite) I have to admit the mechanics such as combat and also spells are really outdated and feel awful. But still, it's not even 10 bucks, so you decide

Thinking of morrowind: saviors hide + Breton + Magicka resistance boost heheh

    @UltimaJoe777
No idea why you said no, I was referring to MORROWIND(TES III) not Skyrim(TES V), I know about that.
To make it clear: I was hinting how you could achieve a constant 100% spellresistance and be immune against any magical effect against you with the right equipment, class choice, etc (and even against Endboss huehue) . That has nothing to do with spellcost reduction at all.

And don't get me wrong but lecturing people who used glitches
Ok first of all it was a glitch. Seriously when will you people learn to play a game without exploiting bugs?

And afterwards going into detail how you yourself abused some is just wrong xD

Okay, I am a thief, cannot escape that but when I got caught (the very few times) in Skyrim, I could fight my out or run....not the case in ESO....I have been caught more and the guards are like invincible or something...really frustrating sometimes but I guess I shouldn't do the crime if I am not willing to die for the dime.
