I wanted to let the community know that I have just ended my ESO Plus Membership. I currently see no reason to continue to give ZOS my money in light of the customer service issues I've had in the past that still remain unresolved. I will consider reinstating my membership if ZOS gives me a compelling reason to not just play this game for free. I'm very disappointed that I feel I have had to do this since I was part of the BETA and I pre-ordered the Imperial Edition of the game.

I will still play, just not as a Plus Member.

I'm considering it myself.. I love this game and I also preordered the physical imperial edition. I'm a huge fan of the games. It's just all about the crown store to the devs, and it's all about being the flavor of the month for most players.

I'm paying that extra 15$ a month. I guess I want more out of that 15$, like I'm gonna buy the next dlc, I'm gonna get the edition with the bear mount. I'll get the basic version with my subscription. But I feel I should get a discount on the dlc If I want to buy it to own. Instead of having access to it. But not owning. They try to squeeze every penny out of everyone.

But that's the world we live in. Selfish companies, selfish players.

WHen I came to this game, I read a little bit about ESO Plus and honestly I have no motivation to subscribe. Now that they add access to DLCs, that's a little bit more, but I still slightly prefer to buy them separately and not subscribe.

I played some other games in the past and I can tell they were much more harsh to free players than ESO is. Currency caps and such stuff. Imagine having 20k gold for you inventory and 20k for bank. Or imagine not beiung able to wear better than blue gear as a free player. And this is reality in some other games.

Great for me, that I don't have to sub in this game though. I hope no devs will read this. :D

This is the problem, and why so many are unsubbing. There's absolutely no point in a membership other than to support the game. The benefits just aren't that great. So if there's an aspect of the game you're dissatisfied with, there's no loss in unsubscribing.

I made a similar post and it was closed, but I still think it's good to give them some feedback on this stuff.

I didn't realize one thing when I writing that post thoug. In most MMO you don't buy the basic game, you only download, then sub and/or use cash shop. But here people buy the game, I bought it as well. So it's logical you even as non-sub have more benefits that in other games. I have no problem if they put more benefits into ESO-Plus, that would be great, but I don't want them to take away from non-subs since they bought the game too.

I'll being cancelling mine as soon as I get my crowns for this month. I've had to chase my 1500 crowns up every month. I was happy to pay for ESO+ but its just too much effort to keep chasing up my crowns every month. I'll just play for free instead now.

Like others have said, it seems a bit of a shame that I am happy to give ZOS my money but wont be able to.

When you buy something as dirt-cheap as ESO it only goes so far. Most things have a limited lifespan. That being said, plenty of non-subbers still regularly buy crowns, so it'd be nice if there was a Loyalty type system in place. Though the sub is still pretty cheap - if you're buying 1,500 crowns a month, then you may's well just sub and get the benefits, or lack thereof.

To each is own. I personally enjoy getting crowns and hearing about the upcoming crafting bags gives me another reason I will not unsubscribe. Although I do get jelly when I see what other MMOs offer their subscriber's...

One month of subscription (which includes 1500 crowns) costs exactly the same as 1500 crowns bought separately. So if you want the crowns, you might as well sub. (It's what i am doing for orsinium, i still have enough leftover crowns that just 1500 more will get me the DLC).

It really comes down to how often the DLCs will be coming out. If they are selling DLC for 3k each 3 months, then It's probably better to sub. If it's 6 months subbing isn't worth it IMO. I buy crowns only for DLCs so far.

I'm considering quitting my membership too. I really enjoy playing the game but for the past two months I haven't received the 1500 Crowns that come with the service. I contacted support multiple times. I'm sure they'll pull through and finally give me the 3000 Crowns but if I have to do this each month then I should really be charging ZOS for putting up with their customer support each month.

I also unsubbed. I reported not getting my monthly crown allotment two subscriptions ago and not so much as an email back expressing any sort of concern. Poor customer service imo. Plus, far too many games coming out this holiday season that have my attention.

They are releasing DLC every 3 months now - so each time a new one pops up the sub becomes more attractive as you get to play multiple DLC's in with the cost of the 1500 crowns + 10% XP bonus you just bought.

A year from now, the sub will be 1500 crowns, 10% xp and free use of 7 DLC packs

With the crafting changes being made to the game, a subscription is not that unreasonable. Without the DLC, Cyrodiil will be the only place to get the new mats, and it's not clear if Cyrodiil will have new enchanting runes. If you want v16 equipment, you either spend a LOT, or get the DLC. With the sub, you get enough crowns to buy the DLC. At less than $78 for a six month sub, this is pretty cheap compared to my cable bill for six months.

True. I mentioned this in a comment on another thread I think. Basically I said, if you're buying 1,500 crowns each month, you may's well sub and get the benefits that do come with it anyway.

I'm somewhat in the same boat, I think I'm going to give it to the end of next month and see what comes of ESO Plus otherwise it is pretty pointless to be honest.
    • The crowns are okay, sure.
    • The 10% EXP gain, so low it's pointless.
    • Access to the DLC (as long as your subscribed), is also pointless as you could be subbed for 10 months and you'd have no DLC to show if you unsubbed.
They've spoken of adding extra bank space etc. If this is actually going to be a noticeable upgrade and FREE then this may compel myself and others just a little bit but they really need to add more or bump up what they already offer. 3/6 months of subscription should give you access to a DLC of your choice to own forever. The EXP gain should be bumped up because 10% on it's own is so little is not worth anything.

It's disguisting the poor standard of support for a 500million+ doller game.

I myself have been ripped off by them, They refused to even acknowledge microsoft's case id number which proves ive paid for my plus.

I mean cmon, we effectively pay your wages, do some work and help us before we all go to other games.

ZoS Scammed us. That is a fact. They deleted my post about it and they threatend to ban me on the forum if i continue to try fight for something ive already paid for.

i am actually quiet happy with my plus membership.
i like the game and thats why i support it. not to get an advantage over non-plus players.

i am disgusted with games that do restrain players in a way you described! I dont want to play and win battles or be better in a dungeon because i have plus membership. I think ESO is an awesome game for player that dont want to or can not pay a monthly fee. And i am happy and proud that i can play with those people together and that none can say "Hey yeah look at that guy, he is strong ...but PLUS member, no wonder"

None in this game cares if you are a plus member or not. And thats awesome. Thats what gaming should feel like.

Not like a freaking Two-Tier-System!!! Have that enough in real life already.

I wouldnt mind getting a bit more bank space though. Anything that wont interacts with the gameplay too much.

I debated this for a while. I was unhappy when they started making items BoP that were earned in game, but I let it slide because it didn't affect my style of play. Well that changed for me this up coming DLC when it hit crafting.

IMHO all in game items should be a part of the base patch and have the ability to be traded or sold. Folks will buy the DLC for the content if it is good, I don't understand the need to lock items up with a BoP tag to try and give folks an ultimatum if they want certain items. You can lock up how to earn an item behind a DLC but to make it unavailable entirely without the DLC to me is just a cheap trick.

I could go on about this all day but I'll just stop and say I did a +1 to the title of this thread.

Why not just subscribe till you can outright buy a new expansion with the crowns you get, then unsubscribe (the cost of expansion is 3000 crowns, 2 months subscribe 'reward' totaled up is 3000)? You basically get to try before you buy this way, if you decide you don't want the expansion, you keep or spend the crowns on something else.

Not sure about OP but I'm sitting with 9000+ crowns in the bank. I've got room to take a break from ESO+. As far as experience and gold boosts go. I can make my own ambrosia and I have the Fortune seeker perk. ESO+ gold bonus only affects base gold not the fortune seeker amount so I ain't loosing that much. I make most money in Trade guilds anyways.

As with gaming in general, patience leads to a lot of saved money.

People joining a year from now will have good reason to sub. I think ZOS will have to focus on including one can't miss feature in each DLC going forward to encourage players to keep their subs (or to buy the DLC outright, which will also keep them funded).

For example, if they make the solo arena like the weekly challenges in mobile games where if you get past a certain level, you get some really valuable reward, it may have some staying power.

My ESO Plus membership ended after a problem arose on my PayPal account involving new federal regulations that required me to supply documents (utility bill for proof of residence, passport or driver's license for ID) that I don't have. My utility bill is paid by direct payout from my bank account, so I don't get a bill. I don't have a passport, and I don't own a vehicle now, so I let my driver's license expire.

This being the case, I couldn't provide the paperwork that the federal regulations require PayPal to demand of me for the continued use of their service. So I canceled my PayPal account. Two things resulted from that, and the loss of my subscription to ESO Plus was one of them. The other was my decision to terminate my eBay account as well, since the sellers on eBay mostly demand payment through PayPal.

I shop on Amazon now. And I'm a free-to-player here on ESO. It wasn't my idea to cancel my Plus sub. But that's how the dominoes fell from the government's latest meddlesome rules.

I'm glad I read the posts on these forums. People not getting their rightfully owed crowns... (I'm surprised nobody has tried to sue, I've read about people suing for less lol). I will never be a Plus member.

If they offered a discount on the crown store, I might consider. Then again, I doubt they would... looking at the price for the undead horse (2500 crowns), ZoS is undoubtedly greedy.

Btw, just a thought, don't buy the Halloween skins, you're supporting this greed and limiting your individuality and eliminating your creativity. You can't customize a costume...
