Some people have quit for various reasons too. I notice the amount of guilds dying out because they don't have the numbers anymore. One of the guilds I'm in is on the brink because better games are now being released. Imo the numbers will continue to fall until just the hardcore fans are left.

In essence with last DLC, the Developers gave the casual, pve'rs and crafters (their bread and butter) the middle finger and told them to bugger off.... so they buggered off to games that do not punish those game styles.

I agree, I'm playing PS4 on the EU server and I've just built an Orc for Orsinium in an effort to get myself back into this game.
I was utterly shocked at how quiet Glenumbra is. I've not been on as regularly as I was in the past due to feeling like we were all given the middle finger just as you say but to see the place so utterly dead compared to what it was is a real eye opener.
I saw one person in the bank and two more at the blacksmiths... that's it!

I've FO4 on pre-order and I'm looking forward to it even if it is just single player because the crafting looks fun/interesting and will no doubt be nowhere near the grind or have the forceful in game purchase tactics which are creeping into ESO.

I'll buy Orsinium simply because I've 3000 crowns left over but can't see myself bothering with any further dlcs after that unless they reel in the ridiculous grinds for mats and motifs etc, the game just isn't fun to play in its current state.
I'm all for supporting a games development and I have enjoyed ESO until recently but I don't feel they want to enjoy playing this game anymore... It just feels as though they want us in the crown store.

Riften is also a good place to go if you are looking for socialization. Tons of people in the crafting area and bank. Of course this is Ebonheart Pact only.

If Orsinium wont bring new life to the game I fear it won't very last anymore on PS4.

Or maybe you're just on at the dead times. I myself see plenty of people during peak time on PS4 NA.

And who exactly says there are "better games" out there hmm? That is entirely opinionated you know.

Count me out of those players. I'll stick to my medieval settings...

You tend to find the biggest crowds in your faction's highest level area. In AD it's Rawl'kha and in EP it's Riften and then there's whatever town DC gets.

@UltimaJoe777 well even Rawl'kha is dead in the main time for EU players! I am not speaking of NA or main Australian time but for central Europe such as France/Germany. The Bank in Rawl'kha used to be really crowded now if u enter the Room you can be glad if there are 5 players in there.

Also sales from the guild trader are a lot slower and that's not just me noticing it.

I would guess that NA has more activity as there have been sold more copies of the game in NA than in EU.

I was in AUS time zone and will revisit now and then. It was fun. I pvp only and i just couldn't stay interested. Now I'm in search of better pvp and less and fewer technical nightmares. On the bright side I was able to heat my room with the overclocked cpu AND video card. I'll also miss the epic thieves guild story line.

BLAME Zenimax, they thought it was a jolly good idea to only allow you to see and interact with your own faction players in Vet zones, there are literally thousands of invisible players running past you, you just cant see them, biggest *** up ever.

Cadwell sends you to other factions to experience them and BOOM! you cant eactually see anyone or talk to them.. DOH

I've only been playing a couple of months and my first toon just started Cadwell's Silver. It is so quiet, not many folks there at all. I kinda like it (except when I need help closing a Dolmen).

I can solo Dolmens in Silver. Why can't you? lol

But yeah the Vet areas are generally less filled simply because people prefer to zip right up to max level and go to Cyrodiil or Craglorn.

CP. Could you really solo dolmens after first reaching vet ranks?

I first visited Ebonheart at VR1. I am currently VR5. I have been able to solo every Dolmen I visited thus far.

    Current CP Rank: 40.

And it is so for the same reason any other area different for you: The difference. You go to Stonefalls and people from Ebonheart see NPCs below or in the 10s of level. Aldmeri players go and see NPCs all VR1. There's your reason right there...

A lot of people lost interest. In my guild quite some left during the last wee, or play less. Reasons are: grind, no new endcontent for groups, lags in cyrodiil. Orsinium will not adress any of the issues a lot of people in my guilds have, there is no announcement that give us any hope for better times.

Unfortunately for them, that is a lost cause because MMORPGs don't end.

People these days just don't appreciate games anymore. Back in my day MMORPGs weren't near as widespread and free as games like ESO are. Seems all people want to do now is have the bloodiest brawl possible in whatever game they feel gives that to them or they just want to live in a single dungeon forever that will give them endless treasure and things to kill. Now I can understand how they feel but also keep in mind this game has way more content than it does now coming at a later time and patience is a virtue. Those that wait will be rewarded more than those that bail.

So in short sux 2 b them.

Ok, perhaps "challenge" is a better word than "endcontent".

With the introduction of the trials there was an ongoing challenge for groups. There was a ladder and ranking. With IC, we got a level increase but the trials are not scaled. The challenge is gone. We also got two new dungeons and old dungeons are scaled, but there is nothing people can brag about, like ladders. For sure there are the unknown heroes of the dungeons, butt the knowledge about their deeds is reduced to the group of four.

In PvP, we got fights in the sewers, but there is nothing to win there. With the announced Orsinium, we get a single player ladder, nothing for groups. Guilds on the other hand, and MMOs in general, are made for groups, for doing things together, fightung together and having fun together. These aspects of the game are gone, and therefore I see people leaving the game.

Technically Fallout 4 is the same genre but it has a futuristic post-apocalyptic setting as opposed to a medieval setting such as what The Elder Scrolls series has. I do agree though, I picked this game up because I enjoyed TESV: Skyrim (for what it's worth) and was intrigued by the idea of playing an Elder Scrolls title with others. So many times I wished someone could be there when I did something in TESV but it was just a single-player game... Yeah, I'm happy in TESO :)

So how does that make them in the same genre? One is a futuristic post-apocalyptic- ala Mad Max- type of game... and the other is a sword and sorcery fantasy game. I'd say they are extremely different. B)

As someone else said, same as when IC was announced. the 2 weeks leading up to it almost no-one was around.

With the serious discount in CP cost that is coming in Update 8, there is no reason to be out there frantically earning CPs. The 1% that are above the cap do not benefit from any earned CP, even if it is cheaper now, and the 99% that are below the cap can get it much cheaper if they simply wait 2 weeks.

Funny, I commented earlier about the lack of Guild Trader players being online on either of the three Guilds I belong to... and while that was still true last night (Friday night), I still found a TON of new players running around in Auridon. In fact, it was so bad, that there were about 15 of us standing around waiting for a Group Boss to reappear. I've never seen it that crowded before, everywhere I went there were other players swarming. So it seems perhaps my Guild Traders aren't actively recruiting new players and haven't cleared their rosters of inactive players... either way, it seems the game is still extremely active on PC PvE.

Anecdotal note: Vet zones have always been quite sparsely-populated for me, but there are always quite a few ppl in Raw'kla on the DC side (Cad's Silver) and I find myself making that my home base even after moving onon to the Pact zones (Gold.) I assume that the other factions have a sort of vet zone sweet spot for players to congregate. The first couple zones are usually tumbleweeds, though, to be fair.
