OP DPS

Which is better for DPS dominance. Sorc or NB I would like to use a dark elf for either but will do high elf sorc if I need to.

Magicka sorc, by far. NB's actually have pretty low DPS compared to most other classes, made worse by their lack of any real AOE DPS skills.

DK w/ Valkyn Skoria set is also pretty powerful.

Wait what? Are you sure you're playing NB right? NBs can pull some ridiculous DPS, and have spammable class skills. Sorcs on the other hand need off-class skills on their rotations to be effective. And on top of that they have better sustainability than Sorcs.

I'd put it:

DK w/Skoria (King of DoTs, especially before the nerf from IC) > Sorc >= NB

Didn't realize dragon knights were good dps I have a DK nord seems like their class skills are better for tanks. Does is matter much dark elf vs high elf with a magika sorc?

If you're 100% min-maxing, High Elf. More magicka, better combat regen, and they have increased elemental damage. Dark Elf only gets a magicka boost and a boost to fire damage, which is almost non existent with Sorcs (Storm Calling = Shock, Frags = Magic).

I run a Dark Elf sorc and could pull 16k+ minimum on most bosses, but I'd trade up for a High elf if I could.

Well, admitedly I don't really play NB, but that bit about sorcs requiring off class skills to be good is just not correct at all. The backbone of magicka sorc DPS is Crystal Fragments, other than that, the Non-sorc abilities that they need aren't different than any other magicka class, such as magelight and force pulse. You could actually argue that stamina DK's are worse in this regrd, since the backbone of thier DPS is always going to be weapon skills and Skoria gear.

Stam nb is the burst king. mag nb is solid but more a jack of all trades type.

Also a good sorc who keeps his shields up and stays alert and mobile while keeping his combo's up is almost impossible to kill with anything less than a brute squad.

I have yet to see any real dps comparisons between the classes. Without that we don't really know who is highest.

If we are talking dps for pve. Magic sorcerers and magic Dk's are the top. My sorc and dk average 18-20k dps sometimes 24k if I nail my rotations perfectly. I have a maxed Stam nb as well which does pretty good dps. But not a much as my sorc and dk. Also my sorc and dk isn't even fully geared to what I want for them. RNG hates me. I have seen some templar both Stam and magic do really good dps as well. Even my templar healer/dps toon can pull 15-16k dps while healing. Hate to say it but nbs might be on the tail end of dps race. Don't get me wrong, they still can pull good dps. But imo templars inch a little higher in dps than of course the top class is magic sorc and dk's. Regardless, play with what you enjoy playing as. My first toon/main is my sorc. When game launch they were in the very bottom of dps race. But I still ran and loved my sorc. Now sorcs has its turn on top

That is the most important thing. My stam DK gets much better DPS than my Stam sorc, but I play my Stam Sorc more often because it's more fun.

I have a nord DK tank that is my main character and I love the beating he can take but my bro just got the game so I created a new guy to run early quests and level evenly with him but I wanted to go dps instead of healer or tank so that's the origin of this post. I ended up going with a high elf magika sorc just lvl 8 so far but it's pretty awesome

Yeah, magicka sorcs just get better and better. They are really good. I am actually leveling an Altmer Magicka sorc (my second sorc) just so I can have a magicka sorc and a stam sorc.

NBs and Sorcs are n the top PvP dps for sure.

It's not so much that their abilities deal the most damage, it's the combination of said abilities and control.

Sorcs have bolt plus some great control moves. NBs have their disappearing act which is the strongest battle control (plus a bunch of abilities)

In PvP the most difficult to face (at least in my experiences) are Nbs first, then Sorcs. The NBs are usually the type that just come at you like a freight train. Attack attack attack, barely enough time to get your own attacks in yet alone gain an advantage.

Aimed at everyone: This is a topic about DPS, which means it's not related to PvP, DPS is a useless term in PvP since it depends on who you are fighting against. You want to use terms like "burst" for PvP. Talking about DPS in PvP is just a testiment to your own lack of knowledge on what the term "DPS" entices.

Magicka Sorcs currently have the highest single target DPS in the game in both dungeons and trials.
Ask any member from Hodor and they will say the same.

However Magicka NBs are a really good asset to any trial raid og dungeon group due to their awesome Funnel healing and Veil in particular. A magicka NB can also really easy go tank with the same CP assigntment and stat attribution by just changing gear.

Magicka NB has better AoE than Sorcs atm, but if you generally just want to dominate meter I would go for a high elf Sorc.
