LOADING SCREENS!

So tired of the long loading screens ....

5min loading to login to Character.
5min just to go from one location to another.
And then this is fun when you pay for a item, and have to logout and back in to receive it. (5MIN LOADING SCREENS AGAIN!)

I read a post weeks ago about this, and ZOS replied stating They were looking into it and it would be fixed and out in next patch.
That was over 3 weeks ago, come on what the heck is going on.

Now we have another DLC coming and still problems not resolved from the last one.
This is not a way to go when dealing with situations that make the game hard to enjoy.

I have been struggling with the same problem for a month and decided to submit a ticket. This is the answer I got :

It looks like your system is having a hard time communicating with the game server. I would like for you to ensure that you have the proper port ranges open for your network. You will need to open the following ports for ESOTU itself:
• TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
• TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507
• TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
• TCP Port 80
• TCP Port 433
If you have any questions or concerns about opening these ports, please get in contact with your Internet Service Provider for advice and assistance.


Now my problem is I have no idea at all how to change the ports. If someone can give a link to a step-by-step explanation, it would be highly appreciated (I use Windows 10)

Try this location as you have to enter your DSL / CABLE Modem to address this.

that website is your best bet I think, it's been awhile since i was on it.

But I have tried this and NO it doesn't work.
But maybe you will have more luck.

I have only been having these loading time issues since IC was released and all subsequent patches. I dont see how, suddenly, it could be my system as i play many online games.

Pre-IC release, it was always 20-30 secs at most. Logically, as i have made no changes to my system, i cant see how it is my fault, the only change made to my system was the release of IC.

Its not your fault and shouldn't be made to think so......why should you reconfigure your pc to run a game you paid good money for .......It's up to them to sort it

Yeah... Loading screens are taking anywhere from ~3 - 6 minutes now. The problem is definately on the server side of things, it probably can't handle the increased population from all these returning players.

I don't know either how to change the ports, but I don't actually think it's necessary since we did NOT get these long loading screens before the IC update, and apparently we haven't changed any settings, ports and whatnot ever since.
I'll just wait for ZOS to finally fix this. Whenever they told me (in many different cases) to change any settings/ports/etc from "this" or " that", it didn't do anything at all but someday later, THEY fixed it anyways. So I won't go messing around with my system or connection anymore, it only messes things up even more.

When I Alt-Tab to desktop while at one of these long loading screen, I sometimes have the client freeze. When it does freeze, I can not force close it because it makes my desktop completely black and unchangable.

Use task manager to close the game. It's always on top of the screen if you don't change it by yourself.

I've got an old TP-LINK router, no port forwarding enabled and my loading times is ~1min.
At large it's a SERVER problem caused by server protocols, etc.
It's really bad when CS asks you to change your ISP, open ports, forward ports or do either technical things on your side.
It's clear that something goes wrong with 2.1 patch.

The long loading screens are NOT a result of anything wrong with your computer, and don't let anyone at ZOS try to let you believe otherwise. They were introduced in the IC release and has been acknowledged by ZOS as being a problem. I noticed it originally on the PTS when testing the IC release and thought nothing of it because I thought it was a result of the PTS being on a slower server box, not a actual problem between the client/server.

Well here's one for ZOS...

I contacted my ISP (Centurylink)
Had them do a monitoring of my network while loading and playing the game.
They stated it was not my ISP or my Computer end.
And that the information between the server and myself was caused by server side only.

So for those who get ZOS telling you to do this or that, DO NOT as it is not your computer
or Network that is to blame.

Just to verify this information, as some ISP's dont like to be blamed for anything.
I had my friend do the same for his ISP (Charter), They stated same thing to him.

So I'm Hoping this Monday 10/12/2015 that they will at least address this and patch it for everyone.
This does make playing the game annoying and troublesome.

10+minutes caught in a loadscreen.
Is the server still down from the update or is zos still just terrible?
Maybe i'll get to play next patch... but don't worry, i wont get my hopes up or anything!

I get loading screen randomly sometimes, I will be just walking around, minding my own business and BAM.. Load screen. Or I will be with my group about to go kill some ugly nords ( ) and then, here we go... Load screen! And then I am dead because I was probably just standing there in the middle of their giant zerg like a fool, asking to be murdered. Its very frustrating to have to wait for another load screen after the one that just got me killed to get back into the same situation. Also toppling charge... That is pretty much like a load screen 75% of the time, standing there unable to do anything after charging at my enemy, and then waiting to die...

Ive been waiting since the release of IC too..but, don't worry, there will probably be a purchasable item in the crown store before Christmas "1000 coins, cut your loading time by 50% for half an hour".

Its a joke, i play less and less now as my free time is precious. Don't want my 30mins play time halved by this farce every time i get to play.

Since the release of IC I have been experiencing long loading screens AND lag - none of which I have ever experienced before!! I used to be able to run the game flawlessly, with all the highest/best settings, and couldn't understand all the people complaining about lag in PvP etc.. But now it's my turn.

I'm trying to be patient, and hope that it'll be fixed with the next patch (although it is an excruciating wait...).

Going to chime in on this thread since our wonderful 2 day, 20 hour maintenance seems to have increased load screens for me. I have timed some at over 1-2 minutes long loading out of delves!

For a while I was hopeful that they were going back down from the horrible effects of Imperial City changes, but now since that maintenance they are worse.

I have tried any and all suggestions, including the port forwarding.

I am convinced it is an issue with how ZOS manages communication with their IP and servers.

After queueing from position 75 i finally got to port to Cyrodiil, only to find a loading screen of 10+ mins, at which time it decided to boot me.

Of course, when u log back in, your back where your started from and faced with another 30+ min wait of queueing to get into Cyrodiil again... I gave up and quit playing for the night

Ugh. THat is completely horrible times. I though my 1-2 min wait getting out of a delve was bad.
