Unfair lost hatchet drops

I have been running vWGT a lot lately and the amount of lost hatchets I get is far less than the guys grouping with me. This is completely unfair.
On average I get 1 or Zero through a full run where they are averaging 3 or 4 and I have seen even up to 7 drop for one group member in one full run. We clear all trash but I thought maybe it's because I am a tank and so I don't do enough damage or something. The healer seems to get too so maybe it's just tanks?
This is quite embarrassing because we always have a competition to see who gets the most hatchets and I haven't won since the week the patch went live. Is anyone else experiencing a low hatchet drop rate? It is very frustrating as the one dps I run with is starting to get a bit loudmouth about the number of hatchets he gets and even gets that dirk almost every run which we count as bonus points.

drops vary tbh. at the start near release i used to get 5+ per run but now im getting 1 or 2 at most
i guess its random since im the healer so the dmg i do isnt that much and lately our tank is the one getting the most hatchets.
good thing is im winning on the frostbite staves from ICP
