For all those who were following the story (see link below), today I received an email from the ESOTU team.

Sadly they were unable to replace all my missing items but said they have mailed the few that they could to my character. In addition to that they have sent my character 250,000 gold as compensation

Wow, you made bank! Keep building up that amount and don't spend past a certain amount your gold will last much longer

I had orange items, purple, blue, 30000 gold, treasure maps, crafting material, dwemer frames, daedra hearts, runes...They took more than 100k worth

I've started a new character and am effectively beginning all over again with nothing. So the gold will help a lot, even if it don't get the rest of it back

it's 30kgold + 20kgold from yellow. all the rest is trash. we all have stacks of 200 of those things XD

The only person who could possibly know the exact value of everything that was stolen is either the thief, or ZOS if they were able to track the items.

he said ORANGE. not a number so around 3-4 . and reading the other thread with the list, green mats, blue mats, motif etx it's easy to make an average value, 80k max XD


OFC he deserves more than 80k cause of the awesomeantihacksystem by ZOS.
i'm only thinking what happens if a veteran player with around 10mils+ bank value and 5mils+gold gets hacked. he will take back 15-30mils? or 250k.?

Oh, and I don't know how this happened (hacked password, I assume), but just in case, for the future: create the longest and most complicated password for ESO you've ever created for any account^^

Same happened to me about 1 year ago. Zos were really on the ball, and for that i will forever be grateful to them. They weren't able to replace any of my items, but they did refund me about 850k, which i think at the time more than compensated my loss.

I'm glad things worked out for you. A guildie of mine was hacked a couple of weeks ago and it took a week for ZOS to escalate it to the point where she was actually helped. She was told she was on a "waiting list". She did get a bit of gold back and some items when they finally got around to helping her, but she was basically told that, if she got hacked again, it would be her problem, not theirs.

If ZOS intends to actually hang people out to dry if they get hacked, we really need authenticators or something. Displaying our login names in guild is a security issue and it wouldn't take a very talented person to maliciously access many accounts since they already have half of the login information. Authenticators would help mitigate the risk a bit, although I know that accounts with authenticators can also be compromised.

I've got roughly 10-12 stacks of each type of green upgrade mat, and roughly 6-7 stacks of each type of blue upgrade mat. So if all I told you was that I lost all of my green and blue upgrade mats of all types, but left the amount unspecified, you'd say that my bank was much less than 100K value? You sure make a lot of random assumptions on the basis of exactly nothing...

@cazzy Congrats dude. Now make sure your computer isn't infected with malware e.g., key logger. Then change your passwords to something complex. Uppercase,lowercase,special characters, numbers, symbols, and 10 -15 characters. Highly doubtful that someone hacked your account without hacking your computer. Unless they brute forced your password because it was really weak. However, zos should have protection mechanism and auditing to detect that type of brute force. Zos should implement 1 time password generation like blizzard.

@joshdm2001_ESO i believe @Cazzy is on playstation, and ahs made relevant changes, still boggles the mind how they hack you PSN short of having every password the same. make me worried about my own account.

To be fair even if you assume a lowish figure of 10 gold items from each crafting tree you are talking around 200k in trade value just there. Add in a proportional amount of purple and that's your 250k without even looking at the rest.

Then if there are any armours and weapons from dungeons or trials they are simply without price as they cannot be bought or sold only gained by RNG.

Not a bad response from ZOS and pleased they did something but it's amazing how much a full bank adds up to when you start doing the math.

god. have you red his post at least? he lost 60 items on a bank capped at 120 and 30kgold. and he has only v1 chars. he linked all the items he lost on another post and they were worth less than 30k gold being a gentleman XD it's just math.

in your case you are speaking about 60+bank slots with only green/blue (that is not so much either) obviously your bank value it's different. i think you missed his ''list'' post, about refined iron,steel,orc,jute,cotton,oak,maple &lowlvl treasure maps.

anyway, i repeat i'm happy he got back a decent value for the items+payback for the hack issue. My problem/question is what happens if a player with 15mils+ banked *** gets hacked, if ZoS is not able to give back those items.
