Werewolf Builds?

I have a nooby Stamina DK Werewolf and I'm new to the class, so I'm just taking my time to find a build that focuses on Werewolves, if that's even possible.

Any tips?

Because I really don't want to use Wrecking Blow. That ability makes me feel dirty and cheap. :p

If you are intent on using 2h you could use Carve for the bonus ultimate generation. I have a dk that uses it and the werewolf's hide set and can generate ultimate very quickly, which is good since the werewolf transformation cost a lot so it procs battle roar for a strong heal. Also if you are able, using Igneous shield (bonus healing done) or Razor armor (more healing received with a passive) using the transformation can be very useful in bad situations.

Also combining the Razor armor damage reduction with the werewolf damage reduction can make you very hard to kill. My sorc werewolf uses boundless storm pre transformation for the same armor buffs and can stay around 38% damage reduction with (honestly rather bad) medium armor.

Remember that your 5piece set bonusses and active buffs before transforming take over to werewolf form. So if you use s&b/2h. Be sure to transform while on 2h bar. It will givw most weapon dmg.

Buffs like rally, shuffle, etc... Will still keep running in ww form as wel

Heroic slash or carve will increase ult regen.

    Most important stuff I guess.

I've got a DK that loves his werewolf form, my build is for PVP. I will be talking about my set choices.

As a dk you gave some pretty nice passives to work with, the best is battle roar. Being able to pop the form and essentially get topped off is great.

Personally building your sets around being able to transform more frequently is not the ideal choice. With the correct morphs sustaining the form is easy, at least during combat. Being able to activate it more often is not as important as being able to use it effectively.

The added survivability given to Werewolves (10k spell resistance and armor) allows the use of medium armor to maximize damage, though with Werewolf this isn't usually an issue. The real two issues of werewolf are; survivability and sustain, so it's your job to build around those weakness to have an effective Werewolf build.

    My personal tips

    1. Increase your healing received, healing output
    2. Cost reduction and regen are your friends
    3. Boost your spell/weapon damage

So how do you get all this? Here is my build

3- Vicious ophidian small pieces- stamina
2- twice born infused medium prismatic
2- twice born infused heavy big pieces prismatic
    1- twice born sword sharpened
    1- Alliance sword
1- Alliance Necklace stam cost reduction
2- shadow walker rings stam cost reduction

    Mundus: Ritual & warrior
    Attribute in stamina
    Drink magic/stam

Champ points in increased medium armor, reduced poison damage, healing received. Stam cost reduction, stam regen, Roll dodge break free. Increased healing and increased physical damage.

What does this build get you?

    Extra protection with heavy armor
Cost reduction of medium armor / champ points
    Cost reduction with vicious serpent
    Added defense with extra armor
Weapon damage Increase of 5 piece medium armor
Increased healing with mundus & larger magics pool (infused prismatic)
    Increased regen with drinks/ alliance
    Fun vicious speed boost
Dual wielding gets you the highest weapon damage/spellpower

    Overall fun!

@CP5 Interesting.. thank you, I will definitely look out for that. I don't think I've seen the werewolf hide set before, only a savage (or something like that, forgot the name) set which decreases the cost of the ultimate by like 33% or so.

Just tried out Cleave and I will def go for the Carve morph, that's awesome. I'll take a look at your other suggestions now too.

That set is (from what i've seen) only available in the level 29-35 range, then again at vet 6, and again at 12 or 13 iirc. I have seen some v16 items from a few old low level sets so I have no idea if zos changed the availability of a lot of sets.

It is possible... I did see a few v16 Martial Knowledge pieces. Do you know the name of the set I'm talking about? @CP5 Savage set or something, can't find it anywhere on google. :p

Savior's Hide, it is leveled around 47-50, but is very common in v10, i've also bought some v12 purple pieces that drop from trials. Its a nice set, but its in high elf style.

Yeaaaah that's the one! I once got a full set of it and gave it to my friend. I'll definitely try and farm that at v14+ when I get there, who knows, it may also drop at v16 if they did make changes after all, like you said.

Telel can give one big piece of advice regarding your werewolf focused build for PVP.

The first one being that you need to get used to staying near your group's healers. Try not to go bouncing around the battlefield and only use it to close in quickly and or for some time extensions. Otherwise stay close to the rest of your group so that you don't get stun locked and focused on.

They can also reccomend you begin learning how to count to three and five seconds. That's about how long it takes for the CC immunity from your roar, or the debuff from your claws to wear off.

Thirdly, do not use your attack howl on DKs if they've just flapped off....for some idiotic reason it's considered a projectile and it can be reflected onto you.

Finally. Telel is also going ot say don't obsess with using the ultimate itself. Compared to most other ultimates it is very situational in PVP and you may find Take Flight, Barrier, and Warhorn to be better uses of your ultimates. But as a sudden surprise and source of a lot of skills you otherwise lack it can be a real battle changer.

    Character: Telel
    Class: Night Blade-Werewolf-viking-ninja-catgirl-mallet wielder
Past times: Refusing to go full magika spec, hitting things with a big hammer, sniping, and speaking in khajiit
Also: Gelel the Derp Knight, Altsel the streaker, and Filafel the temp temp.

Khajiit has a twitch stream! https://twitch.tv/telel_khajiit feel free to come see how truly unskilled Telel is.

I've found that every great werewolf build all revolves around moving with a group.

I can see why though, its a giant "Hey you 9 EP guys, stop fighting my friendlies and single me out pls" sign.

The werewolf buff has made it very viable in pvp....though its still extremely situational.

Oh and Piercing howl is your friend....or well its mine anyway, for some reason its difficult for enemies to break out of the knockdown stun. (Maybe I just catch people at low stamina)

Does a pretty nice amount of damage and knocks them down...it also has decent range on it.

I wish they'd make the savior's hide a craftable set but that may just be my inner-werewolf fanboy speaking.

This as well, Piercing howl hits hard and is instant, combine it with the 30% damage buff on feared targets with rousing roar (major brutality buff) and you can catch people off guard real quick. But again, it can be reflected ZOS knowing why.

As for the cc breakin you noticed, I fought another ww while in wolf form (love those encounters) and we both cc'ed each other with howl, neither of us had the stamina to cc break so its likely that.

Yeah, ain't tried it out in PvP yet tbh since I'm only lvl 22 and don't have enough skill points for all of the passives and morphs but thanks for the insight, I'll try and stick with a group when I give it a go. I also wish there was a craftable Werewolf-related set too. :\
