well at least eso rated M for Milking. Nothing he says + other stuff that everybody asks wouldn't be more expensive than the chairman's next mansion. If you know what I mean. :P

Still hearing stuff like "a lot of resources" "tons of animations" I give up.

Lol, the truth behind the rating bump to "Mature".

Bring a concept and the naysayers come out of the woodwork. I'm used to it @Artheiron

I like this idea at least for more blood and gore. Would buy it.
As for the death animations, would be cool to have it for sure but as others have said it might be hard to implement, not impossible though. Age of Conan did it.

Quick death animations giving the one performing it invulnerable for its duration, 1-2 seconds. Could make the death animation as quick as a fast attack.

Overhead slash/crush, quick horizontal slash at the throat etc, adding some new death animations as well. Say you die by fire your characters screams as it burns alive even though you already died.

Could be cool if they added stuff like that

I don't think it's because ZoS doesn't want to implement it, it just wouldn't be very practical and would probably be more taxing on the server and clients, and we got enough lag and problems as it is.
Lets focus on pushing devs to fix the core game first and add "fluff" after.

    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)
Akamanakh - lvl 22 Khajiit GankBlade (Inspired by Top Cat)
Targos Icewind - lvl 34 Imperial (Future) Jabplar
    (CP 830+)

    PC - EU

People have been beating that same tired drum for, well, since initial release. Don't you think ZOS would have "fixed" the issues if they could?

So, if the issues aren't within their ability to fix they should just, what? Stop developing and let the game stagnate while they keep trying to fix what they can't? I'm not saying they shouldn't continue to try to fix ESO's problems... but they need to move forward with game development.

Impossible. People have a certain set of skills and they hunt down my pixelated posterior and kill it.

Quick one... ZOS should release a crown store pack that just makes ESO more violent and visceral. :naughty:

    ESO Brutality Pack (2000 Crowns)
    • More blood
    • Longer lasting blood coverage on characters
    • Flesh rending and bone crushing sound effects
    • Gruesome death animations (runs at real-time)
      • Bodies getting chopped in half at the waist
      • Torsos getting vertically cleaved
      • Arms and legs getting hacked off
      • Heads rolling
    And my personal favorite....
    • The ability to collect body parts from fallen PVP enemies, complete with their names.
      • Fingers from Men (Breton, Nord, Redguard, Imperial)
      • Ears from Mer (Aldmer, Dunmer, Bosmer)
      • Teeth from Orcs
      • Tails from Beasts (Argonian & Khajiit)

The body parts would have NO use in game whatsoever. They would just be a trophy of your accomplishments. They should stack in the inventory by race and when a player looks at the stack, the name of the...er... unfortunate adventurers would be able to be read. And no, they shouldn't be bound.

Oh and the fatalities shouldn't have any slowing down or special camera angels. They should... happen and maybe not even every time.

Any ideas of what you would like to see added to the Brutality Pack?

Add swearing to the mix too.

I'd buy this pack in a heartbeat. I'm old enough to not need my games sterilized and dumbed down. I'm also not squeamish. War is messy. Bring on more messy!

RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

I think people are confusing death animations with finishing move animations.

Finishing move animations need both participients, and thus would be iffy, as either the killer has to get some invulvnerability for the duration of the animation, or will be especially vulvnerable to being taken dowm themselves due to being unable to react while the finishing move animation plays. Clearly, both are bad ideas.

Death animations on the other hand play on the "killed" characters time... like I mentioned, -just- like the ones that play when someone dies from a critical fire/shock/ice/poison/disease/magic attack.
All that would be needed was to expand that very mechanic with some weapon-themed animation as well. Which then would play if the final blow came from a weapon, and dependent on that weapon type.
So, instead of just falling over, the greatsword victim might fall over with their heads severed. Axe? chest cleaved open. The mace victim might have a crushed skull. Dagger-killed ones might get a slashed throat. And archers may get to see a "perfect headshot" animation if they look closely. That sort of thing.

    Hey @Gidorick

Remember guild wars 2 downed state and finishers?

why can't we have a downed state here with cool finishers but those finishers are all designed like yours?
And can be sold easily per pack on crown store. I'd puchase them all lol.
I already loved the combined ideas. :P

The one thing I like about this idea is I wouldn't have to have it in my game.
Babeester Gor is the Axe Goddess, the Implacable Anger, the Avenging Daughter and the Earth Guardian.
    Vriddi gra-Yildnarz, Dragonknight and Smith
    Myrvanwe, Sorcerer and Enchanter
    Tsajirra, Nightblade and Clothier
    Vilvyni Indarys, Dragonknight and Woodworker
    Arielle Alouette, Templar and Provisioner
Fishes in Troubled Waters, Nightblade and Alchemist
Shanika Some Long Title I'd Change If I Could, Templar and Aspirant Jeweller
Pippi Longhorn, Nightblade, Ne'er-do-well, and "Tribute" character
    EU PC.

hmm. A downed state sounds interesting @Artheiron. Of course, we essentially HAVE a downed state with deaths and soulgems. I have always liked the idea of bleeding out and last minute saves or close-to-death kills in games. It would be a welcome addition to ESO and could actually add a bevy of skills to the game. Things that could happen when you're close to that point... I'm going to have to mull over that idea. Thanks for suggesting that!

You have some good points about the timing of magical spell deaths and whatnot @TheShadowScout. Even some of those could get a bit more gruesome too. Like... instead of just poofing to ashes, your charred screaming body could crumble into ash... heheh. Man, I want this so bad.

I love when a videogame can make me legitimately go...
