Silverstorm Scoundrels - RP Thief and Brigand Guild - EU Daggerfall Covenant

If you manage to catch the notice before the guards remove it from The Rosy Lion's door, you read the following:

The Silverstorm Scoundrels

Fancy making some money? Good. The Silverstorm Scoundrels are willing to let you in, on a few conditions. Ask around for 'Riverstone' and perhaps The Scoundrels could get you in on some coin. You'd better bring your own dagger.

Scoundrels

The notice is scrawled on wet parchment and pinned to the wooden door by a rusty shiv. The barkeep mumbles something about barrels going missing and a local patron asks you if you've seen his coin purse...

"Small, leather and bound together by string. I had it just a moment ago! Oh, I had my mother's ring in that! Do tell me if you see it."

You leave the inn and from the corner of your eye you see someone up the road - it's dark and a thin fog hugs the path, but you can still make out a silhouette fifty yards away. The noise of shuffling boots behind you makes you turn your head for a brief second and the figure ahead disappears into the mist.

Who are we?

The Silverstone Scoundrels is a newly established RP guild for those interested in in-game thief-like roleplay stories, and who are on the Daggerfall Covenant realm of the EU servers. Come and join in a small, developing roleplay guild for new and veteran roleplayers alike. Not only do we enjoy regular RP events such as heists, inn-meetings, robberies, and initiations, we also enjoy casual random RP - fancy talking over a drink with a friend in The Rosy Lion? You'd bet someone in the guild is willing to join you.

While the guild concentrates on ruffian-esque roleplay, there is space for all types of characters alike. Treasurers and cut-purses, herbalists and librarians - perhaps one day we'll have a guild-serving barkeeper! Let your imagination run with your character.
What is roleplay?

The type of roleplay that The Silverstorm Scoundrels take part in is "in-game text-based" roleplay. We utilize the /say and /e commands to write out character actions and vocalizations, in order to create character interaction and plot movement, all the while using the world of ESO as our very own 3D space and setting. Think of it as writing a book, but with a group of people and in the game!

While this roleplay isn't as fast-paced as PvP or questing, it's an amazing outlet for creative writers, roleplayers, and altogether imaginative people to create their own stories in the world of The Elder Scrolls. Together we can create stories and plotlines, interesting twists, and engaging tales using such roleplay.
But help! I've never roleplayed!

That's okay! I personally will gladly show you the ropes and get you started on your roleplay adventure, as I'm sure other guild members would happily do as well. If you enjoy yourself then great! You've just taken your first steps into becoming a roleplayer. If you find roleplaying to not be your favourite pizza topping, then no questions will be asked if you wish to move on. I'm happy enough showing people a part of the game that many are yet to explore.
What are the rules?

This guild follows the basic roleplaying rules., as follows:
  • Don't meta-game. This is when you roleplay your character to know things that they can't know. For instance, typing "/e sees the burglar." when the burglar is in-fact hiding behind a solid wall.
  • Don't god-mode. This is making your character out to be more powerful then he/she is. An example is "/e jumps twenty feet into the air."
  • God-mode includes roleplaying things that other characters haven't allowed. This is a fairly ambiguous rule as some characters allow more things than others, but a bold example is this: you are the player, and you are roleplaying with Mark. It is a bad idea to go to mark and type "/e stabs Mark in the chest and kills him." Mark did not want to die. If you wanted to kill Mark's character, it's best to ask permission beforehand.
  • An important rule in roleplay is this: There is no winning or losing in roleplay. It's about creating story and character connections/altercations and seeing how the plot resolves. There's no need to win fights, kill other people, or be the "best" at something. Just enjoy the story.
Can I ask questions about this guild?

Certainly! You can post any questions you have down in the thread comments. Alternatively, you can contact me in-game and ask me there. My ID is @HarryRD.
I want to join!

Great! Contact me in-game @HarryRD and we'll discuss getting you into the Silverstorm Scoundrels. I prefer to have an IC (in character) meeting with potential members beforehand, but it never takes long.

Alternatively, you can register your interest here and provide a means for me to contact you!
Do you only roleplay?

The guild is solely for roleplay, but it's common for roleplayers to enjoy PvP and PvE also. If you're interested in other aspects of the game other than roleplay then I'm sure there'll be like-minded people in the guild.
