Is fishing really better in groups?

I'm having trouble getting the 3 blue fishes in each zone.

Yes. Your odds of getting a rare fish on any given cast go up significantly based on the number of people fishing at the same fishing hole. It will also use up the hole faster the more people are there, though, so I find the sweet spot is about 4-6 people. Any more than that and you use up the fishing holes super fast and spend a lot more time finding new holes.

While I haven't tried fishing in ESO yet. I like the fact that when I do get into it, I'll be asking "Does anyone want to come fishing?". Something I've never asked in previous MMOs that have fishing lol.

Also, the most fun guild events are drunken fishing guild events. It's a fact.
