Sorc Pets Aggro Question

I'm currently rolling a level 27 Sorcerer Pet Build, but I'm having issues with getting my Clannfear to draw aggro. As you have probably already discerned, I'm playing on a console... What is the best way to open an attack so that my Clannfear does it's job and draws aggro, so that I can provide heals/shields/buffs without running around like a chicken with my head cut off?

You can't. Since you can't control them on console.

Your pet should attack the first target you attack. After that it's random. I couldn't imagine playing a pet build without the ability to tell them which target to attack or to stop attacking. This is just IMPOSSIBLE it just won't work, especially in pvp.

In group PvP it won't work. In 1v1 or 2 it's fine.

In PvE it works that the Clannfear will attack the first thing you attack, afterwards (when said thing is dead or Clannfear is unsummoned) I do believe its whatever aggros you first. As all PvE will target you until aggroed by the pet

Give up pets till they give us gear to support them. This is coming from a pet build advocate. They're not viable for pve pledge dungeons as a dps, they're not viable in pvp. Until they give us gear to support the class...give them up. That is my solid advice. Stack spell power, or go stamina sorc and stack weapon power. those really the only 2 viable builds for anything atm. if you wanna level that way...sure go right ahead... but you'll be killing yourself end game for getting used to that type of game play.

get used to CC, shield, and nuke...and get into pvp and try your best to get magical detonation and barrier. some builds even get rid of the shield and live on the edge nuking till they're opponents are no more and using roll dodge, block, animation canceling and teleporting to get away from enemies... you'll have one hell of a time doing end game content after vr 12 (assuming you pick up necropotence) if you don't heed the advice and mend your ways.
