50 crowns short - now what?

I bought 750 crowns in order to give me enough crowns to buy the adventurer pack.

I was silly and after buying the 750 crowns I'm still a measly 50 crowns short of the 1,900 needed to get the pack.

Do I really need to buy another 750 crowns just to get the 50 I need for this pack? Is there no way to just get the 50?

I know, it's stupid. It was literally designed that way to make you spend more money so there's no way out of it. And it doesn't end there. Once you have purchased another set of crowns, you will once again have a few extra, but not enough to get what you want. The cycle doesn't stop until you decide you're ok with having leftover crowns you paid for

It's a shame. My history with MMOs for you:

Started playing LotRO because I love Lord of the Rings.
Stopped playing LotRO because I realised the entire game was designed around rinsing the players of their money.
Started playing ESO because I love The Elder Scrolls
Stopped playing ESO because...

I feel you. I want to get the explorer pack too but i'm lacking a few. I really wish to start a new character but i want to stay in my alliance, otherwise pvp will feel so pointless. Maybe when the new dlc comes out i'll be able to do something since i'll be buying crowns anyway

My hope is that the price will drop in a while.

I know it's my mistake for not checking that the 750 would get me enough, but it just goes to show how much of a *** the guy who designed the Crown Store must be.

Yup, they use the same system all those "addicting" apps on phones/tablets. I know we're not forced to spend more money other than the cost of the game, but our natural human temptation is really being exploited/abused lol

Because of transaction fees, companies don't make much off of small transactions. If they sold 50 crowns for fifty cents, they'd make about 19 cents off of it. Your 50 crowns would cost you more like $1 in the store.

That's why you only get 750 crowns for $8. Using the PayPal standard fee rate (2.9% + $0.30), they keep somewhere around $7.47.

Larger amounts are a larger commitment, but ZOS gets to keep more after fees, and players get rewarded with more purchasing power as a bonus.

The pricing isn't accidental. As for the larger issue... calculator.
