Pledge of Mara

I've read how it worka, but I cannot find an answer to my question anywhere. So to start this out I need to lay a little background. My wife and I play ESO together. We used the pledge of Mara on her character 1 and my character a. We've put them in the bank and put them on her character 2 and my character b. We play on console so we don't get any numbers popping up with xp gained, however does anyone know if this works? Are the rings account bound or character bound?


Can I use char b with her char 1, or my char a with her char 2?

They are character bound, they must be worn both at the same time and I believe that in the description it should have the spouse's name.

The are account bound if I do believe and only work when you and your spouse are grouped together and both your names are highlighted in the group box. As what it does it gives a 10% exp boost but IMO not worth it seeing how crazy the requirements are for just a tiny 10% boost. There more for a role play than actual use but seeing how your IRL wife and you are doing it then by all means show you love and walk in the grace of lady Mara.

I am on PS4 and I tried this with a friend of mine. The answer you are looking for is NO, it doesn't work. You will need to make a new pair of rings for characters 2 and b.

Evidence:
I know this because I am on PS4 and ran into this problem with a friend of mine. He started a character a' and I started a new character 1'. I made the ring with my main character (2') and transferred it via the bank to 1'. When I equipped it, I noticed that my character sheet did not show the ring's effect when I was grouped with a'.

I contacted support and after a few emails and a few days they confirmed with me that the rings are not just bound to the accounts, but to the characters and that my ring wouldn't work with my character 1' because I made it with my main character (2').

ZOS was able to give us a replacement scroll after they verified that we destroyed the ones we made, but I wouldn't count on this kind of resolution as it probably depends heavily on the representative that ends up helping you.

Forcing you to wear a ring that gives no regen or cost reduction or stats or set bonuses of any kind removes the small EXP bonus you might receive due to the reduction in kill speed.

Ok, so when you wear the rings on the designated characters then you'll see a buff in your character sheet?
