This is one of the rare blue foul water fish in Shadowfen, alongside the toxic xoach. I've just caught my seventh toxic xoach but no coelacanth.
Can someone confirm that it really does exist on the PS4. I'm going for the Master Angler title but it feels like this is going to be a 65 million year mission.

Sensesfail13✭✭✭✭They exist, its just the notoriously BAD RNG of this game. You wont get the fish youre looking for for months and then you miraculously catch one and then get 10 more in a row after that catch. Just the way this game works, it can get frustrating I gave up on the master angler title utterly useless.Wisherr, Dragonknight, Haderus, NA Server.

eligh0716✭✭It literally took me since day one of the game, well I started fishing a lot a week or two in but you get the point, but it took so long and I only got 1 region done, east march. It's VERY time consuming, if not the worst for this game. Look at all those trophy fish.....by the nine someone bring me a sweetroll0 -

So, assuming that the chances of catching a coelacanth are the same as a toxic xoach, then the probability of all rare blues being toxic xoach are (1/2)^8.
That's 1/256.
Something smells fishy. Any other game and I'd put it down to bad luck.........

✭✭IIRC, there are only 3 water types in Shadowfen, and the coelacanth's natural water type is the missing one. Are you fishing Foul water to catch it? If so, then it's just RNG. There are reports of 1000 casts or more to catch some rare fish. Here's a great fishing resource.
edit: Improve your odds, and fish with a group if you can.

✭✭✭✭✭In real life no one is known to have caught a coelacanth in the time period between the late cretaceous and 1938, so yeah it may well be 65 million years before you get one.
