Which is more difficult?

My casual PVE guild has completed both AA and Hel Ra in normal mode. We are currently struggling trying to complete AA Hard Mode. We've gotten the Mage to about 50%. We are making progress, but I am wondering if we should give SO a try. Is normal SO more difficult than AA Hard Mode?
