Out of all the problems, that is one of the silliest reasons to leave a game I have ever heard (no offence to your stupid friend). You can whisper someone from another faction and see if they want to duel any where in Cyrodiil. It's nothing official, but you can still fight someone 1v1 if you want to. There are some players from different factions who are dedicated duelers and meet up just to do this. Sometimes you need to get creative to find solutions if a game doesn't offer something you want. Or you can be a big baby and leave.

I 100% agree. I only said this because I don't believe this "friend" exists. I'm too sceptic because I've seen countless people claiming their friend(s) left the game because of X reason. I understand people want features, but using B.S to get it does not help my mood.
I really don't think calling someone stupid for leaving a game that is not giving them what they expect/need.

Honestly your a fool if you don't think this is a big deal. It adds a ton of content and what should be a small amount of coding.

Haha. First you say "no offence" and then directly afterwards you call his friend "stupid" and "a big baby".
How is that not offensive?

He does exist. I've told him multiple times that arenas/duels were probably coming, but now he has finally succumbed to wow again.
The Elder Scrolls Online will probably never introduce instancied arena and battleground excatly for the reason it's NOT World of Warcraft.
They are planning different things to offer a PVP fix to players, but I'd not expect anytime soon any sort of e-sport in ESO.
this friend was certainly right to return to World of Warcraft is if it's the experience he wants to get. That's why there is different games on the market.
I'm very happy that ESO is not going the WOW route, and still favourise non instancied PVP like Cyrodiil or Imperial City. they could add a Gurubashi-like arena, where anyone could fights and where tournament could be organised (non instancied) and we still have the Justice system part2 currently conceptualised (probably in a different area) which could lead to some intersting PVP, but still in the ESO style!
TLDR: ESO is not World of Warcraft, and a player should choose the game he prefers for the experience he prefers. If it's WOW, then let's it be. But ESO should never try to ressemble to WOW.
