80% is the number which you loose

It's not 50%, it's 80% you loose if you're slain by a player.

So you should have a couple left. If you have zero, it means that you've been slain repeatedly by other players, up to the point where you have only 1 or 2 stones left, and 20% of 2 stones means 0.4 stone which rounded make... zero.

You lose 80% if a player has the killing blow on you and 10% if a mob gets the killing blow. You lose all only by dying repeatedly due to rounding, i.e. you will lose your last stone on a death.

It's 80% to a player and 10% to a NPC. The reason why someone would have lost them all is probably because two straight 80%'ers generally turns me into Leeroy Jenkins. Say you have 1000 ... Die once it's now 200 ... Twice is now 40. When you've gone from 1000 to 40 in 1 minute most people will say "I lost all my stones!" Even though they technically still have 4% of them. At that point I usually switch into Commando mode and lose my last 40 because ... YOLO!

Agreed, if I loose a big chunk of TV stones, I also go into "what the heck" mode and throw all caution to the winds. Which usually results in loosing even those last bits...

Though I kinda wish there were some more variables to the stone loss then just "killing blow". Like... loosing ojnly 50% stones if a player kills you when you are down to 10% HP through monster attacks. Or no stone loss if killed by the very same player within 5 minutes of your last death. Stuff like that.
