Should I re roll my NB for a DK/Templar?

LegionGemini
just got to VR2 on my NB and I don't know if I should re roll or not.
After seeing the potential nerf on magicka regen whilst cloaked for NBs I'm thinking about re rolling a DK or a Templar but I can't decide which is better for PVP and PVE overall. I know that DK is more PVP and Templar is more PVE but what about overall? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In the beginning all were DK.

Then in 1.6, all heard of this god-like power called Jesus Beam and all immediately started levelling a Templar.

Then all heard of this god-like power called "Hardened Ward/ BoL" and all immediately started levelling a Sorcerer.

Then all heard of this place called IC and realized a NB was the next God and started levelling a NB.

The FOTM God is a fickle God and you may worship them if you wish, but I would stick with your NB.

I have been playing 12 hours a day since the new patch. And I can honestly say, that the only, one and only problem I have when playing in imperial city pvp, is the nightblades!

So plesae do me a favor and reroll the overpowered NB of yours, so I don't have to face more of you.

But yeah, stick with it if you like it. You can't go wrong end game.

I don't think you should bother going through as something else. We all have those "the grass is greener" type moments. If you are unhappy with your character you do have some flexibility in how you build it. You can either pay to your characters strengths or fortify it weaknesses. I don't pvp hardly at all and with the IC patch I went from Nightblade tank to dps. But I didn't like being dps. It was kind of fun melting stuff I'll admit, but I like to pay games the way John McClane fights terrorists, with blatant disregard for personal safety and public property.

This is how I tank. Try switching roles before switching characters because you have already come so far. But then again, it's your life bro.

Nightblade logic is limited heals and defensive powers, ok full power mode and it works as it was meant to. Before you travel off the straight line to a keep and miss 90% of gankers not now you have to face your death open field Cloak is trash in a Keep or Imperial City with places to hide behind and around it's miles better close quarters combat favors the Assassin.

There are ~10 counters to cloak. L2P.

Amount if counters doesn't matter. It's how effective, accessible and workable they are, in a normal build, that matters.

Old Reflective Scales and Streak/BoL also had ~10 counters. Even more counters than Cloak. Still got nerfed hard and with added limitations to avoid "spam". So the argument about the counter or "l2p" is sort of out the window by now.

When people have to start running special builds, dedicate 20-30% of their bars, only to counter one class that's spamming a skill, that's when you get nerfs. Cloaks is definitely in that category right now. Only stamina builds have decent counters, as in a few skills that can be incorporated in a normal PvP build AND work well against Cloak.

This is why Cloak, without a doubt, will get some kind of anti spam nerf. I rather they gave magicka builds access to AoE with larger radius, less travelling time and longer duration, than messing with the main defensive skill of NB's. But knowing ZoS, they will go for the easiest option.

Scales needed that nerf DK just stood near resources counted to four and let the NPCs nuke themselves at a time when solo resources was still impressive. Sorcs used an escape to travel between keeps I have a lot Sorc friends that are just leveling their horse for more speed.

Cloak doesn't last long at all removing DoTs let's your heals do their job and the other morph breaks when a DoT on you tick off damage making it pointless. You gain the removal of one DoT per Dark Cloak level what will the add to compensate?

•more then 2.9 seconds the rage would be real and warranted.
•not break on damage that would be hella unbalanced.
•lower costs? Then just Claok again to drop DoTs
•drop 2 DoTs or Delayed damage like a purge.

Their is no nerf that wouldn't kill this for stamina Nightblades that will just reroll magic, rather then loss one to two class defensive powers we have left

It is funny how most cloak complaints came out after the IC. Before it was fear. Chain cloaking was possible since at least 1.4 when I could more or less run with it non stop half of cyro.

It's because most people just want to complain about something. Rarely will people use 10 minutes of thinking and counter a skill. Instead they immediately cry nerf.

Its not the cloak I complain about, or the AOE unblockable hard CC, but that they have everything else easy access from their class skills, the buffs and debuffs as well. Not the cloak itself.

So your mad that the NB has useful skills in the class trees? Why not be mad that the other classes have worthless skills?

I liked my templar a lot. Then I tried DK and it became clear to me how flawed and boring to play templar is.
Same feeling after playing as sorc/nb.
    Just an opinion.

So I suggest you try DK.

    @LegionGemini

You shouldn't base your class choice on what's currently OP or getting nerfed or not. NBs will still cloak regardless of whether ZOS nerfs that one skill. You should play the character type you have the most fun playing! You can always park your NB and try something else for a change. It will still be there if you decide you liked the stealthblade better in the first place.
I play a NB as my main. I've made one of every other class and haven't stuck with them to level cap, I just keep going back to the NB. It fits my preferred playstyle. Or maybe personality. Idk. Hope this helps your decision, amigo.

Honestly, I'm doing the same thing. I've been maining a NB since it got the game on console. I'm still leveling my nb, but I wanted a change of pace. After recently watching Extra Credits: Dan plays Darksouls, it made me really want to play a tanker (read: knight) type of character.

Clearly you're not using it well if you don't understand its power in IC vs Cyrodil.
I'm kind of a small deal!
