Crown Glass Mofits? Slap in the Face to the Dedicated Crafters Who Actually Earned Them

I know I am not alone on this. As a crafter I spent alot of time and work trying to get and learn these Glass mofits just so my dedication would be worth something. So I could standout as well as anyone i made armor for in my guild. I never thought this style would be in the crown store as it was one of the rare things to aim for in the game and be proud of. But now I will just be looked at like eveyone else who pulled out their credit card and took the non dedication easy route.
One more reason why I cant wait for Camelot Unchained because the actual CRAFTER CLASS will be very important and needed and rewarding and there will be no game store for real money to buy things like this!

I'm a crafter that was inconvenienced a long time by choosing to allocate my limited skill points into the crafting lines, but this doesn't really bother me. I did pull out my credit card for some of the motifs and regretted it. I ended up finding most of them while looting. Learned my lesson.

Anyway, back to the glass motifs...

I am not upset about them being in the crown store because they are a cosmetic item. They have no special passive or ability. They are just artificially scarce. If they did come with an ability or passive for the full set, then I would be upset about them being for sale in the crown store and would feel like the scarcity in game would be justified. Personally, I chose to be a crafter for my own benefit and not to be a special snowflake.

Thinking further on it, maybe they should be selling the motif per page in the store just like they are obtained in the game? Yes, no?

You haven't been paying attention then. ZOS has openly declared glass will be available in crown store right after it's existence was revealed.

I just saw it in the game.. well, this also explains the recent drop rate nerf of the Malachite Shards.
I'm not surprised at all, but disappointed.

Dedicated alot of time doing crafting writs. Also spending alot time doing things like farming nodes and killing for drops so that i could sell them to have have gold to buy more glass frags. Aswell as buying and selling in guild auctions houses to make a profit. This is alot of time spent to be able to make glass mofit gear that i would of much rather spent in AVA in Cyrodiil actually having fun. I think i am allowed to use Earned.

That's the point of putting the glass motif in the crown store to being with they wanted a crazy way to earn it so that players will go the store.

IMO glass isn't even that good looking plus why are people so butt hurt about armor style is strickly cosmetic not like a glass style armor is gonna have any better stats than a nord or altmer style armor.

Glass is as ugly as can be, dont know why anyone would want to know or craft any of it. I know every crafting style in game (other than the 2 just added) and could care less about Glass. Xivkyn is the only new motif I want.

normally i would agree because they are a cosmetic itme that does not effect power. BUT even just to get the visual apearence they give to you took alot of dediction and time. Time that I would have much rather spent doing other things like AVA. I also never read or heard they would end up being for sale... otherwise I would not have spent all the time i did to be able to make them.

If they had just put it in their day 1, or waited a couple or more months to do this Telel would have been quite content with the matter.

But to do it less than a month after it's been out and some people have spent a lot of time and effort working to get it is just....annoying. This one is a mere one recipe (staves) from finishing the line, and to suddenly see they could have waited
mere days to spend their 'free' ESO+ crowns on it instead is quite irksome.

Again, not because it's in the crown store but because it should have been there day one or they should have waited a few months to add it.

You can definitely make $50 in less than eight hours. You probably can't make an entire glass motif in less than eight hours.
If you really want it, buy it. Nobody really gives a *** how long it took you or what you paid for it. All that matters is whether you like it or not.

Eh, I've always said as long as it doesn't directly affect stats and gameplay then I won't really care. I stick with that in this case. I doubt the market for the motifs will be negatively affected now as well. I mean dwemer stuff just did start to go down after the new motifs were released and it's been in the store for a while. 50$ versus a monster chunk of in game gold that I have not much else to spend on, I'll go that route. More power to anyone that does go the cash route though. They are just buying a look while supporting the game, have at it, doesn't hurt me, hinder me, or affect any sense of accomplishment I may have.

Before the patch I continued to do my writs everyday on my main character. I did this for about 2 or 3 weeks, in the end had all my writ rewards saved up. Do you think that got me anything? HA! Not even 1 complete motif (i.e. 10 fragments) out of DOZENS of writ rewards. After playing since the patch and still doing them every day, I now have exactly 1 motif learned, and not enough fragments to try for the second.

Pretending non-paying players also have a chance at this on their own is stupid. It's ridiculously obvious this was going to be a cash grab. I still pay a subscription, for whatever that's worth. I don't want the stupid idiotic grinds with simple throw-them-more-money solutions flashed in front of my face.

The target market for this game is not a lot of kids. Little kids won't grind to VR16. It's older dudes (especially the crafters) who have jobs and not a lot of time and so they will spend the money to get what they want out of their hobby. I'm not saying it's good or bad. Just don't be surprised by what this game is if you're a long time mmorpg player. Those kinds of games don't come out any more.

I have em. I never payed real money. Why take them out? Got some on my own, bought the rest on a trader. I can see how deeply this has hurt your feelings. I just don't quite understand why.

Could buy the motif in game for 800k or sell 120k gold for $50.

Go to the Crown Store and pay ZoS $.

I'm not in a rush so will wait for them to drop from writs. Mind you, after opening a lot of chests, I am up to 2 Malachite!

The writs were not worth the time or mats and the drop rate was ridiculous, so as I had only one fragment, I am glad it is in the crown store instead of taking me a year or more.

While I have some in-game gold, I don't have nearly enough to buy all the glass motifs and other grind-fest stuff. But that's beside the point.

I dislike the crown store model and have from the start, on principle and for what it's doing to the game. Let me put it this way: I gladly pay my sub since early access, and will continue to do so as long as I'm still enjoying the game as a whole. I will NOT play for free while others pony up for it, and I will certainly not support the game through what is essentially a bottomless pit. I know you don't NEED any of the stuff in the store, but if it's in the game and I can't get it with just my subscription, I'm going to be frustrated. And those things are piling up quickly...

Anyway, different people, different opinions. Just don't say I have "hurt feelings". I don't like being patronised.

What you should have done is what the smart ones have done...sell yours off before the price goes down. I have made a ton of gold in game over the past few weeks selling motifs and pages

I agree with OP! 100% I am working hard to be the best crafter in ESO -- Hands, Paws and Claws down! I work hard to learn ALL the styles and triats. It is a INDEED A SLAP IN THE FACE -- it is P2W. I left RIFT because of crap like this. It is win because instead of earning any boasting rights and earning something to be proud of -- now someone just wipe out the credit card and get all the goods with out EVEN WORKING FOR ANYTHING. If someone want to be a good crafter, let him or her do the time and worked needed -- instead of paying and being lazy to do it.

ZOS PROMISED THAT THE CRAFTING WILL MEAN SOMETHING!

Putin mofits in the crown store, just takes away from the point of crafting just as much as putting craft items in NPC stores. It makes crafting useless!
