DW Weapon Type for Spell DMG

Does anyone know if the type of weapon matters for spell damage. I heard the last passive will give a slight bonus to damage when using swords but not sure if this is accurate.

Thanks for the replies. No, I never considered using 2h sword due to the set bonus issues. Interesting that you can net more damage despite losing that bonus. Interesting.

2H is only viable if you're pushing over 40k magicka, as the returns from 2H there will outclass the returns from dual Swords.

The 40k magicka is a simplified limit where virtually everyone will get better damage at this point. In reality, the threshold is reduced by the amount of spell damage from other sources not including your weapon.

A two handed magicka user would be bad @$$! The math in that link makes my head hurt a little though. LOL

@Asayre, I know you only ran the equations for VR16 gear, but do you believe this would hold true during the leveling process?

I can't say for sure since I don't know the values for lower level weapons and what are typical magicka pools for lower levels. But it probably doesn't matter too much since you'll level very fast either way.
