Poison post IC Question

So the patch notes read "Poison will now scale off of Weapon Damage or Spell Damage."

What was the change here? Does anyone know what it used to scale off of?

Would just like to know if anyone knows how this change may affect gameplay.

I asked this a few times to the Devs before finally getting a response. Basically, it only applies to the "Poisoned" status effect, so it won't apply to things like bow attacks.
