Templar vs Templar

Ok so thought i would make a post due to the fact im lost at what to do,

I play a templar on my main v16 healer , Over a 140 champion points,

I play pvp all the time, not always as a healer but dps magicka build .... Pretty standard build type Toppling charge, puncturing sweep etc.

My point being is I have been fighting templars and dragonknights and noticing we cant kill each other, the fights go on for 10 mins or more and nothing happens unless someone else turns up and helps one of us .....

Its actually got to the point against 3 different templars that we took out seat and sat and watched each other.

Not too happy about this can we get a buff to puncturing sweep for magicka users ? or if anyone else can recommend what to do i have tried dark flare for reduced healing but still not enough damage can be done to kill each other .....

just got to the point where its kinda boring now

    stack more spell damage and more magic so the base dps and heal numbers on skills is higher

    Had the same issue but with Magicka NB vs Magicka NB, and it went for about 25-30 minutes before we walked away. Kinda seeing why zerging and using siege to destroy your enemies is a thing.

    haha not really enjoying it :(........ thanks warpower going to stack more spell power and hope it makes a difference looks like im pulling my martial knowledge out of the BANK again hope my Mana Regen wont be affected too much ... any indication on what spell power i need to be sitting at ? Im Currently on 1750

    It would kind of be a wash. If he stacks more spell damage he's losing his toughness. So the lower DPS from the other character he's fighting would also be able to kill him faster.

    Yet his healing would be higher too so the loss of toughness is a wash...leaving more damage to edge out the victory after 45 minutes.

    Its been pretty true in most MMOs for pvp if you run into a healer you will need 2-3 people to take that 1 healer down ( thats kind of the point isnt it?) if not there isnt much point in being a healer because you would always get targeted by 1 person and killed. Saying that on the other side of the coin for a healer dont expect to be able to kill any one person. That has been something we healer have dealt with for a long time and it makes sense. In a game where everyone can heal id expect to see that and the lines get muddy with that because there is quite a lot of self healing going on. When you run into a enemy that can heal and youre alone generally speaking you just go about your day and move on. Been healing for 17 years and pvping. I can honestly tell you running into another healer is more of a funny thing. Even to the point when its 5v5 and both healers are just chilling on the side line healing a endless fight and you guys know you cant do anything to each other so youre just standing next to each other because its funny. Its no different then just 2 days ago for me on my nightblade healer. 2 people couldnt kill me or even get close so we just followed each other around killing mobs. they tried for a good 10 minutes realized they couldnt kill a healer with their builds etc ( which is to be expected) and generally left me alone while we killed waves of mobs. its pvp yes. Do you need the bloodlust pvp directive brainwashed into you? No... youre a healer. It goes against your nature and is fairly immoral from a healers point of few to kill others lol.

    I had this same thing happen the other day, it was pretty funny actually. Me and another templar got in a fight upstairs of some building in IC, went on for about 10-15 minutes. Neither one of us could close the deal, we eventually just bowed to each other and went on our way.

    To that DC templar, good game man, good game.

    Honestly sounds kind of awesome for a match up like that. Basically it's 2 sustain monsters going after each other, seems reasonable that you'd get that result.

    Hi, the problem of healer vs. healer has been there much longer, not just since the patch!

    The main reason is that the Templar class has no class burst damage and "real" healer's don't spec for stamina (Wb, etc.).
    A templar with 2 swords, resto, or destro staff, has no access to skills as Crystal Frag or Grim Focus, so magicka Templars rely on a combination of so-so damage-abilities´, none of them "really kicks b..ts."

    Blazing shield has been stampeded into the ground by ZOS policy of the "downturning of absorb shields + pvp dmg nurf, INSTEAD of simply balancing absorb shields as hardened ward"... that's another looong story, NOT in favor of the magicka Templar!
    Important CCs as root or AE-CCs are not relly there, exept nova, sun fire, blazing spear, but only Explosive Charge, Piercing Javelin, or Punturing Sweep offer "serious CC", so use them.

    I left out Jesus Beam, as nearly every class has it's own finisher. Unfortunately, only Templars have one, which puts them into great danger.. beeing interrutable. Also Dark Flare can be interrupted but if you're a good templar, you will know, which skill you can interrupt to your favor and, most important, when to do it!

    Maybe, this is the only solution to win templar vs. templar: to interrupt/cc at the right moment, in order to use Dark Flare and your ultimate (Nova, Ice Comet), combined with weapon attacks with disease damage on it, so you put up some anti-heal (~45%) for your following finisher or skills. (Interrupt with charge + bash-attack, or with poison arrow/crushing shock).

    The other way is to fight for resources, so if the other templar is poor and can't afford "good pots", or he has only 1000sth magicka regeneration, he'll loose.
    I'd say Templar vs. Templar is one of the best fights you can get in PvP, as you'll easily see, who is a skilled player and who not, and a lot of skills aren't only instants (as sorc), so you can really use all game mechanics!

    I just got to V16 as a magicka templar and my magic damage is about 2800 unbuffed with dual wield. The more damage you do with your puncturing sweeps the more health you will get back so there isn't much of a survivability trade off. My magic regen is crap so I have to sneak out of sustained fights to do some regen. The only 1v1 PVP fights I'm in that last more than 20 seconds are due to nightblades going invisible when my detect pots are on cooldown.

    Well, if you take 2 magicka builds with reasonable survivability in their set up(healy templar for example), they where never able to kill each other 1v1 in ESO. No one dies until one guys fails his stamina management, pretty much.

    In 1.5 those "duels" also took forever, resto heavy spamming and stacking shields for half an hour, everyone running max crit def on top.

    In 1.6 was equally pointless due to nirnstack giving everyone 50% spell res(even in light armor) and of course shield stack. People talked about crazy burst in 1.6, but I could still tank other magicka users to infinity.

    So no real difference now. We still cant kill each other. Major thing that prolongs the fight is Harness Magicka/Dampen Magic I think. Cant break each others shields down, cant out dps each others healing. The blanket nerf to dmg surely didn't help.

    Twice with my Dk tank I've come across another Dk tank and had long battles.

    Once at v14, fought another v14 for 15 minutes before we gave up and went separate ways.

    Another time at 14 and fighting another 14, after 20 minutes I finally won. Only because he left his reflective scale off for a few seconds and I got a meteor on him which opened him up to finish off.
