Scathing Mage and Precise Staff

hello, im a sorc and currently running Scathing Mage set. Atm my crit chance is 62%. if i use a dark magic skill (ex. frags) my crit chance increases to 65%. i am using thief atm.
the question is if i use a precise staff to increase the crit chance to 72% will i get a higher dps avg on bosses thanks to the scathing mage proc? Or am i better off using a nirnhoned staff since they have considerable spell resist values ?
