As reported a month ago on PTS, Rearming trap is buggy.. and people are now actively exploiting it on live.

    Not AFAIK...

    Skill is even more buggy than expected.. got 1 shot by such a trap. Death recall showed 22k trap damage + 6k trap damage, while I didn't run over any traps before and both numbers displayed the same player name, so couldn't have been a stacked trap. I was instantly killed, no rearming at all.

    That was on a VR15 or 16 stamplar (dinged VR16 yesterday, so not sure if it was before or after the ding) in 6 medium/1 heavy with something like 14k phys resists. Clearly working as intended.


    Funny thing is, after seeing the exploit, a few minutes later I saw players from our side suddenly trying out the skill. ZOS really taught us well !

    I noticed this as well. I think my combat log showed literally hundreds of small hits in very, very fast succession.

    That's what usually happens, but most of the time you see it triggering constantly.. but guess at times the delay between 2 triggers is so small that you don't even see it.

    Prediction:

    IC will be a mine field by the end of the week.

    I use this skill and never noticed it one shotting anyone. It is a shame because it is paramount to my build to get that extra critical damage, but I guess I'll have to stop using it. The problem is that I have no idea how long ZOS will take to fix this, so it could be months of not using it while everyone else exploits the heck out of it.

    Haha, when it started to lagg but just not enough that the mines would go down on the ground and arm after like 6 seconds, while an enemy player who is standing on these spots for 6 seconds would get 6 mine hits and mostly die. XD

    When placed in the tight confines of the IC sewers it is sometimes very difficult to see and the rearming trap morph has a tendency to proc multiple times a second, resulting in death before you know what hit you.

    Hostiles can't see the traps. That was something ZOS implemented a little while ago to make the traps, traps. That is, if that is still working.

    @hexys that is still possible as far as i know. In the 1.6 PTS however a rank 3 minefield would continuosly procc on its victims, if at least 2 people stepped on the sa,e trap at about the same time. Lag didnt matter with this issue.
    Funny interaction with that was how Ball of lightning, since it counts as a "summoned creature" with hitbox and everything would trigger the mines, as well as the player teleporting, often resulting in near insta-death, if you didnt roll out quickly. I remember quite a few duels with @ToRelax that ended prematurely due to that bug.
    (Lazy EP hasnt even fully leveled his skills !)

    On topic: while i tested trap beast (the ranged morph) on PTS there seemed to be a similar bug to how minefield behaved back then, with the trap continously activating when at least 2 people (or Pets :neutral: ) would step on it simultaneously. However i have not experienced any oneshots yet.

    I got killed by this for the first time this morning. Had no idea wtf had happened. Now I know. I also know that the guy who is doing this is a terrible player. You know who u are. Next time bring some friends man cause you cant cut it in a 1v1 fight.

    There is also an item called a bear trap you get from a quest. Apparently this worked on the freaking Mantikora from SO.

    That was hilarious. Just learn to laugh at these bugs. History tells us they are usually left in the game for months before they get a fix.

    Yeah, this is ***. Hot fix this ***! So many people clearing the vet dungeons who cant do it normally and now have the helm when they never earned it.

    Exploiters now figured out that the best chance of exploiting is dropping one just as you pass a door in the sewers, since people are certain to land on it when they go through.
