I could not agree with you more. Crafters are being punished.Strider_Roshin wrote: »ZOS wanted to make it so it would be just as difficult crafting gear as it would be for PvPers to acquire it. Well they made it more difficult. So far I have acquired a full set of VR15 gear and 1 piece of a VR16, and I haven't found enough ingots to craft a full set of VR15 yet. Right now it's a ton easier purchasing your full set of VR16 gear with Tel Var stones than it is crafting it. ZOS you need to severely reduce the requirements to craft VR16 gear because in it's current state it is by far easier to just buy it with Tel Var stones. Sorry for those who are crafters. You're essentially being punished for doing more work.

please @nimander99 enlighten us all because I am fed up with the grind they have made the game as of the recent patch. I have been playing since beta phase 1 and have NEVER thought about quitting until now. I just cant do the grind no more. crafters want 200k PER piece they craft...... unless you have the mats. I try to farm the mats and only ever find heavy armor or medium armor and very VERY rarely do I find light armor to decon for mats.
I know I know I can spend 100 stones to get the silk but thats 15k stones for ONE piece of gear....... thats 105k stones to get 7/7 pieces of gear crafted if I just buy the silks since my luck since IC launched for finding light armor has been utter crap.
At first I wanted the pve sets because lets face it the new pvp gear just flat out blows unless you wear medium armor and want to rock that shield breaker set. Then I realized that my luck in normal wgt and icp has been CRAP (beat it 12 times no set items) then I tried vwgt, lololololololololololololoololoolololol , I have 10 attempts (attempts is the keyword) under my belt and the groups always fail at the inhibitor but up until that fight in those 10 attempts no set item has ever dropped for me. So that new PVE gear is out of the question as is the original build idea.
So please enlighten us all (more so for myself) as to why we should be ok with the new grind and why there is such a disparity...because I am literally at my end with all the grinding and horrible HORRIBLE RNG

If you've got a master blacksmith deconstructing the same gear you get... one ingot. Really? FFS, why did I bother spending 2 skill points to improve my rate of extraction?! If they did that then the grind to get enough mats would still be long but in my view tolerably so.

I hear ya @OGLezard , I do... and maybe I've become O.K with the grind because the alternative is quitting (I acknowledge that's a possibility). On PC the mats I've been buying are around 300 to 400 gold a pop, and yes its harder to get wood cloth and leather than metal.
For me I guess the reason I'm ultimately O.K with the grind is because I'm playing a lot more now that I have in the previous couple months. But if it was, say 20 mats each to craft a new set, then everyone and their sisters mother would be decked out, I.C would be empty of all but the pvp-ers/completionists and the economy would take a dive again.
I guess what I'm saying is this, I was frustrated like you the first couple weeks of I.C, but as I've slowly created my new gear and actually made some gold along the way, the sense of accomplishment I've started to gain has been nice, and has reminded me of the accomplishment I got from mmo's in the early days. Plus I've earned a buch of CP's along the way
Anyways, I hope that helps. Although sometimes it is O.K to take a break, even from things you love doing, as I basically did over the summer.
Edit Note: I still played forums over the summer though, I'll NEVER leave you, Forum's

The gist was ZOS will NOT be changing the numbers needed to craft, but also the situation will mysteriously improve with the next DLC. All part of their grand scheme. I wonder if that grand scheme accounted for all the crafters who quit before Orisinium gets here?

I mentioned that same thing @Ourorboros in this thread

Sadly I believe their "grand scheme" is to sell those "convenient items" that will help remove some of the grind from the game.......
EDIT: To clarify, I do NOT want that happen....the crown store items to remove the grind...... sadly that is how I feel it will turn out with their "grand scheme "

I agree with this ^
Edit: You may or may not know this but crafted vr15-16 gear does yield the full amount of decon resources.

LOL, that would be too easy. You get ONE mat back, no matter how many it took to make. Does this mean that I get 130 ingots back if I deconstruct my greatsword?
