A Chocolate Covered Turd

Picknflick
My first impression of imperial city.

Part I, Another Failed PVP experience:
Get in a group, run around in a circle killing mobs and players. Once the enemy has a bigger group, leave and go to a new area where you are the majority, run around In a circle and kill mobs and players. Be sure to stop any and all fun you may be having, running around in a circle, run to the bank and deposit your TV because one death takes some 90%. There will not be any capture points, no "capture the flag" style play, no "storm the keep and kill the boss", just run around in circles for hours on end farming your points to buy better gear, to allow you to farm even faster and feed your other toons...hopefully taking you long enough to pimp out all your other toons that there will be a new DLC with the same material you can waste another $25 on and start all over again.

Part II, Dungeons:
we're going to get two new dungeons but you can't que for them while in the imperial city, and like cyrodill you can't recall without a way shrine, so suicide or run through enemy territory (either way your chances of losing TV is high) if you want to leave your grind fest and do a dungeon.

Every MMO is a grind in one form or another. The success of the MMO is how well they mask the grind. This DLC is masked like a chocolate covered turd.

Turds are the product of a functional bowel system (good thing), and chocolate is a tasty treat (also good). Are you saying you like the new DLC? I don't understand.

If you do want to do a dungeon later though.. when not in Cyrodiil etc. you will be able to port directly to the dungeons, no que to get into Cyrodiil or anything.

    @Picknflick

LOL, well that about sums it up. I feared as much. I don't play ESO at all for the PVP and try to avoid it like the plague.

I'm glad that type of content is there for those that are into it, but I could care less about the mono-e-mono or horde fest battling. It is just meaningless kill respawn / kill fests that make me want to go do ANYTHING else and log out of game.

I couldn't give two *** less about PvP game play.

What I really enjoy is cooperative online dungeon crawls, building characters, conquering end game content, fair loot drops, making progress toward content and character immersion advancements.

When I heard Psijic Ambrosia recipe was going to take near 30 days per page for 7 page recipe with two toons I thought... seems excessive... that's 6 months to make progress... but I'm having fun with other stuff and maybe I could even buy a page or trade for one or two along the way... and who knows, I could get lucky...

Then they come out with the new recipes for this latest round of glass armor and whatever where you need 10 fragments to make up a single page... and you need all the pages to make a complete volume... I just LOL... they can keep it!!! At some point, its madness and the fun gets sucked out. They went too far. Psijic Ambrosia was already absurd.

The questing, the Tel Var stone idea, the new CONTENT of imperial city and the new quests and adventures sound GREAT... love the new dungeons of IC... however, the fact that they made the whole thing a hostile zone means I could care less.

It would have been fine if they didn't make the ONLY way to get the VR16 gear / sets / vendors in there... but they GATED the PvE progression behind a PvP play wall... so now we have to play through the PvP crap to enjoy all of the PvE content... I don't like that decision at all. I would have much preferred they had a toggle... enter IC PvE or enter IC PvP... take your pick. You can earn Tel Var stones from the PvE baddies or you can go through the risk / reward side of the PvP gankers and madness that is all that.

I would have happily elected to go to the PvE only side.

I work a day job, I have 3 teenagers and a wife, I have a limited amount of time to game and really enjoy PvE in ESO. I game with several older folks who are of like mind. We just don't care to engage in the whole one-ups-man pvp style of alliance warring... its not what we are here for.

Hopefully, there are many, who are interested and giving that kind of feedback to ZoS. I know we are... and I've seen more than one thread here saying as much.

Thanks for posting above. I haven't even been into IC yet - and I know, you are not alone in sentiment.

What are those 10,000AP recall stones called? Otherwise take the suicide penalty or run back on your own.

Never feel like you deserve to keep all your stones. You have risk/reward situations. Run back, keep 100% but risk losing 80% of them to gankers. Or suicide and lose 10%, a "Tax" for safe travels in my mind, lol.

I think the 'grind' is fun. Multiple avenues to grind, different choices. Collect TV. Grind Items to break down. Gank for AP. Run in groups and wipe other groups. Better than Grind straight AP or XP. Those are now secondary in my mind
