Drops have stopped

Hi

Is this a bug? since the update I've had no drops, I spent over 6hrs yesterday killing nearly non stop and yet No one thing got dropped.

you mean Imperial City drops? If so, they have nerfed it hard.

No I've not brought the DLC yet, i'm on about just normal map drops.

I'm LvL 48 (stated in first post lol)

I've just killed about 50 mobs and still nothing

If the mob is lv 43 or below you will get no drops or exp.

If I remember right, the mob level in Coldharbour goes from level 44-50.. but could be wrong, though, it's been a while

But if this is right, then it's a bug.

yes odd few have been 43 but i'm killing 45+ so not sure whats wrong, I was getting lack off drops before the update but now just nothing.

You beat me to it.

If you aren't getting any drops at all from mobs in coldharbour when you are 48 then there's definitely something wrong, not sure what it could be because you seem to be the only person with this issue, maybe it's just really really bad RNG or maybe it's a bug, you would have to submit a help ticket and see if they can help.

Yeah, I thought that as long as you were still getting experience from something, then you could get a drop. Hopefully it's just a bug and not nerfed as hell!

Then it's definitely a bug, you should report it (hopefully they can fix this).
In the meantime, if nothing helps (or until the support does), the only idea I would have is to finish the mainquest to go to the first Silver zone and see how it works there. The other Coldharbour quests you can still do afterwards. Or grind out the last 2 levels (unfortunately without loot for now) and then go to Craglorn to see if it works. But I hope it gets fixed during Coldharbour, though

There's a bug I call the "loot leak". The longer you're in a zone the less likely you are to get a drop/loot/rare fish. Most people going for Master Angler have experienced this. After a few hours, the fish stop coming. You can go through 200-300+ fish and not get a single blue, let alone a green. Generic loot will still occur, but anything of interest slowly begins to peter out.

This seems to hit regular loot drops as well.

The "fix" for this is either to zone out and zone back in or log out and back in.

Sounds like a pretty believable anti-farm/grind mechanic.

Did you trying relogging (or maybe you had relogged during that 6 hours for some reason?) Did it have an effect?

Also, maybe wander into a group dungeon and see if there are drops? Group dungeons are instanced so I would expect something different to happen

Yeah i tried it but got hide( but got a drop) not what i wanted being LvL 49 now and that's like LvL 1-10 but when i'm on my own killing 47+ at coldharbour i'm getting nothing.

I do dungons to help 1-30 LvL players, could this be the problem?

I agree. It sounds like a myth, but the longer you fish, the less blue and green fish you get after a while. I've talked to a lot of people going after Master Angler who've all had this problem. It's a hard theory to prove because you need insane amounts of bait, patience, time and other circumstances to try to reproduce (does it only happen on a busy server, etc). But I can assure you, it's happened in almost every zone I've gone in. The RNG is a mysterious creature, but there comes a point where after getting *zero* green fish for two hours... that you zone, come back, and suddenly you're getting about 1 green per pool when you weren't getting any before over 30-40 pools.

Thanks for the insight @Preyfar I definitely have had the time, as I have taken up fishing in ESO while editing videos.. since well... rewatching the video to edit means I can't have game sound and need to be able to swap to the video editor quickly.. so the only sensible thing to do in ESO during this is fish. lol
