My soul magic no longer gains xp

Is anyone having issues with soul magic, created a new character since the patch but my soul magic is stuck at 0, even though it let me morph soul trap?

Exactly this.
Another point is you automatically get Soul Trap at character creation, and can slot it and level it and eventually morph it without advancing any quest. Sounds like this is what you did, do a main quest and Soul Magic will increase in level. Soul Magic has 6 levels total to go along with the 6 main quest in game.

✭Hover your cursor over the top bar on Soul Magic. It should say something like, "progresses as you work thru the Main Story Line". Each time to take care of the Prophets "tasks" you advance. It does NOT gain XP.
Now, if you "Soul Trap", active skill, isn't leveling, that's a different issue.You have to have it on your bar when to get XP to get it to level up. I use it as a DoT on pulls on low levels. Also, have empty soul gems for your level in your inventory, so you can fill them and rez anywhere. Once you get too many skills, put it on your bar when doing quest turnins to keep levelling it, or any skill you want to level but not have on your bar all the time. The "gives you magic and health back" morph of Soul Trap is awesome on low levels tho.Edited by Darlgon on September 18, 2015 11:44PMPower level to CP160 in a week:

It never really shows any progress, as soon as you complete a leg of the main quest line it auto opens next level. In your case it will pop lvl 3 Soul Magic.
