Some of them looked really cool, we'll have to see what happens to them when they remove VR's I guess. Would be good to see some variation between players armour.

Two things that this game needs desperately:
1. A wardrobe system a la LOTRO (https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Wardrobe) for disguises etc.
2. A transmog system a la WoW (http://wow.gamepedia.com/Transmogrification) for changing the appearance of armour.
Or maybe go a different way mixing the two by making a right click option to convert armour and gear into appearance only armour and gear which can be stored in a wardrobe and put into a second set of slots that override the appearance of the armour you are wearing.
I would be more than happy to pay a substantial amount in crowns to unlock features like these.

I choose 3. Not copying off other games deliberately.

http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/205061/costume-idea-aura
That works in a superhero game, where your looks is more your "costume" and your gear more your "power", which may or may not actualy be gear based in lore...One thing I miss about DCUO is the style lock
Essentially I equip whatever gear I want for stat purposes, but can pick and chose how my character looks from any style I've collected...

Of course, 3 would be the better option. 1 and 2 were only examples of existing systems to give an idea of what functionality is needed. But then again, even number 3 is practically copying the way other games do it, there's very little that hasn't already been done nowdays in the world of mmo's.
