目を覚ませ、日本の英雄達よ
“Open your eyes, heroes of Japan.”

Found this little thing on Twitter not long ago (source). What do people think of this? Community discussion...go!!

Honestly, I think it would be nice to expand ESO into the Eastern countries. Part of me was hoping it would hit Japan soon, tbh.

Can't they already play? There's just no Asian server, so they'd have to play on NA or EU.

Of course they can already play, but an official release in Japan would mean adding support for Japanese text input (which currently is not a thing), as well as translating the UI into Japanese. It would also mean adding an Asian server, which would be far more convenient for them; after all, no one wants to play on a server that's halfway across the globe.

Pretty sure OP refers to localization.

Btw, Spanish anytime soon???? Theres plenty of spanish/latin word reference in the ES lore and its frustrating to se an ES pretender game without spanish.

I am one of those Japanese players who has been playing ESO from the early access era. It appears at least ESO's coming to Japan means the language localization because the source code of the teaser site (eso.dmm.com) refers to it, but it is not yet confirmed if it includes JP-dedicated server addition as well.

Personally I like the Japanese text input to be enabled only in tell, group and guild chat (if it is going to come) since I can easily imagine that Japanese text flood in /say and zone chats would certainly annoy the people who does not understand the language. It would ruin the mood of Tamriel world too.

From the aspect of Ping Rate, it would be nice to add an Asian server for Asian players.

I myself would stick to NA server though, as I like to play as many people from many countries as possible.

Japan sounds like great idea, wasnt Dragon Dogma from Japan. Also Blood Borne should fit for ES players too. At least Japaniens arent as crazy as Koreans.

IMO, ZOS should just go with oceanic server without any language localization.
There won't be enough Japanese to fill the server anyways....
