tl;dr

Well since the servers are down, I thought It will be a good time to put my thoughts and maybe it can be a guide for new and seasoned players in ps4 eu campaign.

Abit about myself, I have completed 2 Azure star campaigns in ps4 eu in top 2% as daggerfall alliance, starting my 3rd campaign this time on thornblade dc and azure star ep.
I did not intentionally create an ep mage, it was my first character and my 2nd character is a nightblade with dc.
They were both vr1 and I picked the nightblade for pvp because of its stealth abilities, my mage although vr2 is still using lvl40 gearswith leftover vr1 stamina gears from my nb :dizzy:

As new players these are some of the things you should know that will help with your experience.

1) Buy siege weapons the moment you get into cyrodiil, fire balista being the most universal and useful.
2) Hit the walls of the keep, not the doors. because even if the doors are down to 0 hp, the walls arent going to come down.
3) Have at least 1 aoe skill, this will help you get exp and champion points when killing npcs at resource and keeps.
4) For the kills quest its fastest done being in a group, stand around and wait for a group, when you see enemies, hit them with instant cast skills or even light attacks.
5) Have a fast mount, upgrade speed all the way and then stamina, you only need approx 30 stamina to get from keep to keep, anymore stamina and it helps preventing you from dismounting when hit by stray npc
6) Repair walls and doors, it gives you ap, but to make a profit in ap, you should not do more than 8 stones or 10 wood
7) Take resources if possible, it gives exp and cp, however to take the resources, do not charge in and use gap closers like a hero. you should first take the mender and guard pair out, then tower mage and centre pair of menders. use a fire balista if less than 3 players, else back away from it.
8) Stealth is your best skill in cyrodiil
9) Situational awarness, etc if your keep is lighted and under attack, do not rush out to kill the enemies until you are sure the players inside your keep outnumbers those outside. Also check the map often, etc if a keep is being hit by 5 siege from your alliance, find those 5 sieges.
10) Revive players, buy the empty gems and fill them up, if you do not revive others, you might die and have no one to revive you in return. also players will usually take a mental note of who revived them :)
11) Always check your map on where the plays are happening.
12) If half your team is wiped out, just respawn and ride ti destination again.
13) Learn how to pass the crown/leader, if you happen to be leader to avoid a group disbanding because you turned off voice chat and didnt know that you are the leader of the group.
14) Play the campaign; get involved. Dont just go to keeps and stealth at some corner. Be useful :)
15) There is always a siege merchant in every resource point that is under your alliance control, buy what you need there is inventory space is a concern.
16) When the hole in the walls or door is open, do not rush in. look up for flaming oil, look out for balistas inside keep.
17) Know where your keep is being attacked. Having a group of players jumping and running around at 1 side while your keep is being lighted up, they are most likely not the ones that are causing this.
18) It is rude to take others siege weapons, especially when they just got killed and instead of reviving them, you just jump on their siege weapon. Chances are you will die too because how do you think the player got killed in the first place? fall damage?

How to be a Zergling; a zergling is but just 1 little a player, but when together with other players, they become stronger, they become a zerg army.

1) Have a fast mount
2) Be in a group, if possible, else just join the moving mounts etc
3) Go where the keep is under attack or defend if your keep is under attack
4) Always be in the middle of the pack, the ones infront will get hit first the ones behind are usually ganked lol
5) Have instant cast spells, aoes and ultimates ready, using light attacks also works
6) Rush to the resources and hit everything once without killing yourself, watch out for balista in tower thou
7) When attacking enemy keeps, kill all npcs
8) When keep is taken, rush to next keep or next resource, do not repair, kill everything, be a proud zergling, wear the badge

For the seasoned players hopefully these pointers will help

1) Situational awareness in a group, look at the bars of health, if they are dead somewhere its usually not because of fall damage.
2) Point of entry, for certain keeps there are some usual point of entry, at the sides, at the back, in a resource tower, up a hill etc, these exists for all keeps, else pick the side that has the ability to have the least amount of siege weapons to be placed.
3) Know your terrain, some hills and mountains you can mount siege weapons and hit the walls
4) Understand where the reinforcements are going to come when attacking a keep, camp or gank those points
5) Know when your internal doors and walls are going to come down and which one
6) You are competing with your fellow alliance folks for the ranks, being 1st, 2nd or 3rd doesnt make much difference except in gold earned and maybe bragging rights at the end of the campaign. Being in top 2% is what really matters.
7) If your keep is lighted up/ under attack, it means your walls are at half hp, this can be inner or outer walls. If you have just taken a keep/inner walls came down and it is still under attack, it means someone is still inside your keep, it can be due to disconnection and crashes.
8) When sieging, even if you do not see the target or the hp of the walls, if your direction and aim is correct it will still damage it.
9) Stone siege are best for walls, always carry some or buy them if you are going on a mission to take keeps, speed is the key here.
10) You cannot take other scrolls until you get yours back, the only exception to this rule is only at the restart of the campaign.

For alliance generals and captains

1) The enemy of your enemies are your friends. To get scrolls or make emperor, you will need the help of the other alliance, by either be distracted in getting scroll or defending heavy attacks. Else have 4 full coordinated group of players to overpower them.
2) Timing, executing your plans needs proper timing instead of just proper execution.
3) Use the power of the zergs, know where they are going or going to do. Being together with the zergs or understanding their mentality can help make things easier. Either use them as a distraction or a force.
4) 24 players in a full group cannot take a fully manned keep etc when an alliance have 3 keeps left, if a full server can have 100 players, on average each keep is 30 players. 15 siege weapons can be quite painful. So letting them stretch themselves can be very helpful.
5) Be objective, dont go in merry go rounds to dragonclaw, brindle etc if you know the zergs are coming or if it serves no purpose at all.

Thoughts on Azure star and thornblade

1) My sympathy to the reds in azure star, you will never win this campaign because of thornblade, period. It killed that campaign and that is why everyone floods to Azure star for a 30 day campaign and that is also why the blues and yellows will constantly hit the reds just to make arrius keep a kill farm.
2) Why players would pick a 30 day campaign? for the 5 gold gears of cos.
3) Reds in Thornblade really tastes sooo good, like fried chicken. The overall ap earns, Daggerfall have 9 that are in top 10 with the reds emperor in 2nd lol, without a keep to defend, I got to thank the reds for constantly feeding us.
4) They should really consider a campaign reset for these 1 sided campaigns. It is also not without trying, the yellows and blues will push the reds in thornblade, but to a certain point, the reds will start appearing and swarm both sides, this has led to players rejoining laggy azure star again.

Differences for Blues and Reds in Azure star

1) The blues do not sit around in keep courtyard waiting for the whole team to arrive, they know their roles, they move along and get started while the rest catches up. Even when there is a huge fight outside arrius keep, the reds are still mounted and in the courtyard. Maybe they are too used to being attacked.
2) The blues do not have strict leaders, if you are not with the group, you get kicked, its a video game, players do afk for different reasons
3) The blues are way more determined.
3) It is easier to get into a blue group than a red one.
4) The blues do not bicker amongst themselves, i have been in red groups where theres so much bickering and complains.
5) The other day i was just telling my dc friend that I finally understand why there is always a huge reds population in azure star, its because the reds just simply got more girls on voice chat, coming from 2 blues campaigns I was kinda surprised that real girls actually plays this. So it was kinda refreshing to hear some screamings and stuff.
6) The blues got really bad music selections in voice chat, the reds got better taste in this department.
7) Maybe its the amount of girls in reds, but wall repairs is lighting fast in reds.

Advantages of being a blue in Az

1) You become pvp tactically really fast and as they got some really strong group players
2) You will make alot of ap repairing walls.
3) You should be prepared to be a player that will not give up.

Advantages of being a red in Az

1) Better loud music
2) Alot of time spent in arrius keep and its lumbermill
3) Girls on voice chat
4) Easy getting daily kill quest completed
