Keep an eye on your writ reward rates.. I suspect a stealth nerf came in this week

I have a full stable of toons. 7 of them are master crafters in multiple skills, all totaled I run 20 Craglorn writs across all the skills every day. Today I got zero survey maps (from 15 chances), no Kutas (from 5 enchanters), no gold tempers,no malachite shards, no glass recipe fragments. Zippo. Nada. ZIp. Nil. Bupkis on anything halfway decent. Yeah, I get it, all praise to RNGeezus! But today I would've shoved the spear in his side and laughed while doing it.

Edit -- a day with so much nothing I put something in the list you don't get from writs. Apologies.

RNG. I ran a full set of writs with my only master crafter this weekend and got two surveys. Got two Kuta and other gold tempers.

Coming from the opposite perspective, this morning on my one equipment crafter doing the three equipment crafting writs I got two surveys, one glass motif fragment and one gold temper. While gathering the survey materials I found four Fortified Nirncrux.

So I don't think there's been any stealth nerfs, but I am sorry you wiped on the RNG boss.

That was what I'd been seeing for the last two weeks. Then today -- BAM. Thanks for the info, hope for a better tomorrow.

I only did three this morning (prov/ench/alch) and got an alchemy map and a kuta.

Only from equipment writs, not consumable writs. The ones you run can yield Psijic Ambrosia fragments (provisioning), survey maps (alchemy/enchanting), purple food (provisioning), and Kutas (enchanting). But none will yield malachite or glass recipe fragments.

There are dark rumors of a quest to slay the gods of RNG. Unfortunately it's group content and you can only form a group for it thru the LFG tool. I heard that someone started the quest in January and is still waiting for the tank slot to fill.

Within 2 runs of Level 40 Blacksmithing doing writs, I pulled out 2 glass fragments. Sadly I don't have 50 Smithing yet, or willing to gamble 10 fragments for a yolo chance of getting glass bewts or belt motif :S

Gotten at least 3 surveys, a few kutas and a few lvl 15-16 clothing mats.

That made me laugh. I've gotten the recipe for belts and gloves so far from 21 fragments I've gotten from writs. Yeah, 21 in 13 days. Never had a day with zero before which is why it shocked me.

Exactly what I wanted to ask. Glass motif fragments come from writs, but malachite comes from treasure chests. Can someone else confirm it can be received from writs as well?

You cannot get malachite shards from writs. You can only get them from treasure chests.

Tried writs once when they first came out....

Then thought why the **** am I even bothering?

Never did writs again.

Ignore anything in the game with RNG and suddenly it's not so bad anymore. Also you know all this will be in the crown store anyway so all that RNG grinding, for nothing.....$$$$$$$$$$$

I just did the writ on two toons,

2 Kutas, 2 Tempering Alloys, 1 Glass Fragments, 1 Psijic Frag (too bad I already have the recipes).

RNGjeezus labs me!! Looking forward for the reset in an hour to do it again! Weee
