Disappointement about Magicka NB Build

Hi guys,

I thought reroll my NB and make a magicka build but something annoys me.

If i want play an Assassin role type character, i need to make him stealthy right ?
And also, i have to look like a assassin.

And here something goes wrong.

Magicka NB loose the stealth passiv from medium armor because they have to wear light armor to be effective. Ok, they can more use shadow cloak so it's quite balanced.

BUT, wearing light armor make you look like a sorcerer, not an assassin.

More, there is realy few abilites for close combat in class skill for magicka. Only two exactly. Lotus fan and Cancelead weapon.. It's not realy attractive. I don't want play from long range as an assassin (with magick ability i mean. with bow or throw dagger it will be good..)

I wear two dagger but i can't use them. I can't use other weap except staff but it's not assassin type at all..


So if someone have some advices for play a magicka NB as a assassin type, i will be glad to hear them


EDIT : I want add, there is some passive made for magicka NB in assassin tree skill. Magick assassin have to exist in the point of vew from ZOS. But there is a lot of non-sens to made it..

There's some light armor jerkins that will make you look very assassin-like. And wielding 2 daggers will actually give you more spell damage than a staff, so it's actually preferred you dual wield if going magica DPS.

Pretend you are a ninja.

Also, regarding stamina weapons, wield them but don't use weapon skills. Fill your bar with magicka skills.

Yeah you wear it, i know it give you some spell damage. But you don't use it.

But still some non-sens..

Very few close abilites compar to stam NB. And less stealthness.. Less speed for sprinting.. etc.
Why wearing light armor that make you less heaviest hampers your movement.

Don't use lotus fan the unmorphed version is better for a magicka nb, also a good assassin will use both long and clsoe range skills ^^ cripple is nice , makes you move so fast with concealed weapon.

Look up a few guides there some dual wield magicka nb's guide somewhere.

I dunno. A Dark Cloak into a Concealed Weapon feels pretty darn assassin-y to me...

Magicka NBs, with the right build, can stay in perma-cloak if they wanted, so not sure what you mean by 'less stealthness'. That said, you may just be a filthy stamina lover in your heart of hearts. Embrace it. Don't go magicka just because it's the FOTM.

Not sure what you are talking about... I play a magicka NB in melee combat using dual swords. Does great and feels great. I think your issue is you like to complain because 'play as you want' has a limit. Yes, you have Concealed wep and lotus fan but need to make use of ranged skills too. Surprise!

I think too. May i will just keep my stam build.

Another point,

Canceled weapon don't have the bonus damage from stealth like other stam abilities or yes ?

Breton light, I believe has an assassin look to it.

Just stop using robes and start using shirts.
And as far as weapon goes, go dual wield, 2 swords for the 5% increased damage on all skills *(includes magicka based), and use class skills only.
Done.

And teh hat, you can just go for the breton style. that's it.

You can also not go all light armor. Mix in one or two Medium if it looks better to you.

imo stealth = weapon = stam build. Since stealth takes stamina to use and to move in, its a natural connection.

Magica NB = ambush + conceled weapons + prox det + killer's blade

then you dead.

Dunno about noobs, but when my nb was stamina, if i timed it right i could pretty much perma cloak away.

You have to think of magicka NB's in this game as more like ghosts, than stabby stabby.

They buffed Lotus Fan in 2.0, so the up front damage is now the same as Teleport Strike and you get the AoE damage also. You don't get the stun but you do get a 6 second 70% AoE snare which is very good, esp for PvP. So it's a valid morph now.

I just realised today my magicka nb looks like Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat



Edit: Go full Breton style with shirt instead of robe and you should get the look you're after. It also looks better than the costumes imo, especially once you get to Spidersilk

As a Dw magicka nb I would love to see more screenshots of gear and dyes. I too am looking for jerkin styles instead of robe, I always liked syphers black and white dyed sorc but that uses dropped gear.

Also would love to hear on Dw mag builds

Glass heavy xivkyn medium rest light. Try that for looks.
As for the dps setup use 2 swords not daggers for the benefit of the dual wield passive but thats better for aoe fights. Magicka nb is a decent dps but its more of an offheal imo. Definetly more dps from a nb if he is stam

As for look, use Heavy chest, medium legs + 5 light that looks cool and aslo provides you attr pools bonuses (with undawnted passive) and extra armour.

Try the new Xivkyn light Jerkin and you should be fine

My toons all have a heavy amor piece as cuirass to abuse the Undaunted Passives and get the max armor benefit. If you want to look different get a diguise or a crown shop costume.

I use different styles for my toons (Templar -> full Dwemer, NB -> full Imperial, DK -> full Daedric, Sorc -> full Ancient Elf, Breton -> Breton, still undecided)

I have to admit, I like the heavy chest look on all my chars. Although they are female toons and a robe might fit, I will never be a fan of robes. If I need to wear a light chest piece to achieve a special build/gear setup I craft a shirt, but not a robe.
