By default the following button assignments are in place:
X = Activate/Jump
R3 = Crouch
D-pad Down = Change view to or from 1st Person to 3rd Person
Unfortunately this conflicts with gameplay oft times whereas if there is anything to activate (talking, taking, etc.) it interferes with jumping. The current solution to seperating Activate and Jump is as follows:
X = Activate
R3 = Jump
D-pad Down = Crouch
The ability to crouch using R3 is much more user-friendly than setting it to the D-pad. While Jumping with R3 isn't too bad sacrificing the flexibility of being able to crouch and uncrouch while moving is no good. Therefore I propose that Zenimax implement the following instead:
Press X to Jump
Hold X to Activate
So many buttons use pressing and holding to do 2 different things so why not make this happen? I am so tired of things like Torchbugs and NPCs following you that you can talk to impeding my ability to Jump and I am not willing to use the current solution as it creates more problems than it solves.
Please Zenimax, consider my idea. It also wouldn't hurt to have a Quest Log showing quests we have already completed so we know what we have or have not done while you're at it
