There is one thing that you should do to that may help. I know it has for me, but sometimes I still crash but not that often now.

Here is what Tech support told me.. It will help with the fps/latency issues most of the time. If you do not know how to do this, you may have to call your ISP for assistance.


"To best access The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, I would recommend configuring your router to open the following outbound ports:
-TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
-TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
-TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507"

Depends on how long I play but it usually happens every 20-30min but usually when I'm just roaming around the city, getting off of a craft station, afk'ing, etc. Gets extremely aggravating having to relog and reload in every time.
EDIT: and I'm running on a gtx 980, 1tb ssd, i7-4770k cpu oc'd to 4.1ghz, and 16gb corsair vengeance ram. Definitely has nothing to do with running gfx too high especially since I haven't gone into pvp yet where there's ass loads of people. I'll try messing with my ports but I doubt it will fix it.

I was at once every 30 minutes for 3 months. Then I went to the tech forums and read through the threads, made graphics changes to my ESO folders. Now for 2 weeks it's been zero.

If you average it out over all days I've played it would obviously be higher than 0, but still far, far lower than 1. I'd guess the average for me would probably be around 0.1 or so. About 1 crash every 10 days I've played sounds about right (taking into account the many many days without crashes, and the few days with multiple crashes).

I have just experienced that amount of crashes on Cyrodiil trying to do some large scale battle pvp.

First day on a new rig and got sent to loading screen about once an hour.

I think I'll have to take the advice of @Mawgusta and do some tech forum surfing.

Edit: Before the new rig maybe once per week I'd crash to log screen

Definitely not a daily occurrence. Once in a while I'll drop back to the loading screen, or crash while zoning, or my game will freeze up, but that's like twice within a couple weeks or a month. It is annoying when it happens, but 90% of my gameplay is uninterrupted so it doesn't bother me much.

0-1, on PC... I'd say, three days out of four, I get through my time in ESO without any crashes, one time out of four I get the "gamefreeze" or the "infinite loading screen"...

Once I even had three crashes in one day, selecting crafting writs, but that cleared up pretty quick.

All in all, I am pretty satisfied, ESO crashes less often then my FireFox...

Used to crash every 30 minutes or when riding to certain keeps it was so hard I would I would not go there if it was flagged to avoid a crash.

Don't know what they changed but crashes are rare for me now.

I also just built a new computer recently. I followed the info above and also a different thread about changing a graphics card number in eso>user settings.. I don't know exactly which ones worked since I did everything except opening different ports.

Lucky you, I'm envious.

XBox Eu & it crashes out to the "please ensure active internet" screen at least 4-5 times a day.
Other times my character just stops taking commands (always during a fight) from my handset & dies whilst "frozen" in time still being attacked...the NPC's keep moving.
If I have on armour that knocks down enemies at low HP (Death's Wind) and they get knocked down, they never stand again, just lay on their backs still doing damage to me including casting & heavy attacks, but I can't see which is doing what or even easily tell which is still alive etc.
I'm Lan wired to permanent ADSL 2+ so it's probably not the internet connection.
Tech support told me it was a Microsoft issue, & they told me it was a Zos issue.
Been going on since XBox first hit in May.

I've begged Zos to transfer my character & bank to the NA server (as they replied once most Australian's play NA server for better game speeds through being a closer/faster internet connection) but they flatly refuse.

Since I upgraded my OS from WinXP 32bit to Win7 64bit a few months ago, no crash at all. But the computer makes noises I've never heard before, and I ocassionally get black screens in the game which never happened before. And besides of the stuttering in certain places and more lag that started to occur after the last update, the game runs pretty smooth, actually.

Before the last patch I crashed pretty frequently. Since 2.1 I have crashed hardly at all.

I do have to reboot on occasion still - usually to fix group bugs and they like.

i'm on the mac client, on a late 2012 imac with the GTX 680MX, and on this last update if i turn the graphics up to ultra-high it crashes due to too many load-on-demand textures. if i'm travelling between cities it crashes practically every time i step into a wayshrine because every other player i meet takes me a step closer to it crashing. if i turn the graphics settings down to high it crashes less often (about as often as it did on the previous release) presumably because it uses less VRAM.

I don't PvP, don't use addons, and don't belong to any guilds. My graphics drivers are 3 years old. I've never had any performance issues with the game. I've been playing on the PC EU server since launch.

At least twice a day, sometimes more. Has been getting worse with each patch though and prior to 1.6, it never crashed.
