Doesnt Pve get boring?

Im mainly a pvp player. Its a different situation everytime its always somethin new and different. Ive run vet dungeons and minimal end game content and just wonder how people who are so adamantly pve players dont get bored! The same old npcs using the same moves. Eventually you master it and thats it...how is that fun? Maybe its just me. With the competitive edge of pvp idk people dont love it! For those who come from strictly first person eso games im not refering to all pve content. Im not referring to the "story". What happens when youre maxed out from pve? Do it 7 more times on other toons?

Sorry, short and sweet version; not everyone is the same. I don't have a need to have the best gear, highest level, etc. it's not a competition to me. I think it has a lot to do with the aggressive vs passive personalities

So I just checked the game hub to see how much time it has recorded for the game running. Other than making cups of tea and bacon butties, if the game is running, I have been playing. Err and reading/answering the forum :)

So, time currently recorded at 306 hours.

I am only playing one char at the mo and am just starting the Cadwells silver, so basically, two more games to go (counting a game as the 'main quest line').

Tbh, if it took me 290hrs to do one questline, multiply that by three and that's before I start again.

So, will it get boring to redo this stuff? I won't darn well remember after 870hrs!!!

As others have said, non PVP is what you make it. Personally, I really enjoy PvE, questing is great, especially if you share your time with someone doing the same quests. Doesn't get boring once. I have only done a small amount of PvP, so I cannot say yet whether I will enjoy it as much as the rest of the game, but so far I've enjoyed all the hours I've spend on my character, now VR3 almost 4, and exploring Daggerfall after finishing Ebonheart. Exploring the environments is always going to be one of the most fun aspects of the game for me.

Imo pve an be just as if not more competitive than pve when you get to the top. Making sure your group is pulling the most dps possible and killing everything as efficient as possible. Creating new strats to help your group go faster. I think if you want to get the most out of the game and be as competitive as possible you will end up playing both and if you're a really good player you will do both well.

    Everything "gets boring" eventually.

Even PvP got boring it seems...since they had to add "new and exciting" ways and places for players to kill each other with Imperial City.

How the hell have you spent 300 hours in the game and not got 6 vr 14s or so? Seriously I've done just about everything possible on 3 characters now and I've only been playing since July...

This, I generally pvp alot in games, sure it's fun, but it's very much the same for me every experience.

Roll up to enemy keep, take resources, setup siege, take keep.

Or setup siege, enemy zerg comes in, respawn, get ganked en route, respawn again, get ganked again, respawn, kill gankers, run back to keep and fight zerg again.

There's only one actual objective in pvp, and generally, it's take an enemy keep, spend an hour defending it till they take it back, gather zerg and take it back again.

Log on in the morning to find entire map yellow, then take them all back again to repeat the next day

Well... we relax and explore. Fish. Actually read all the NPC dialogue and sometimes argue. Go back into Toothmaul Gully because someone else hadn't done it and its one of my favorites. Get wiped in an undaunted delve. Wander around at the traders in Elden Root and shop for motifs.

I've been playing ... about a year and a half. My highest is v3.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Is it not borring to follow 10 or 20 players in a small area and spam the same skills over and over to kill players or mobs you see ?

Pvp or pve can be borring. It's how you do it and with who..

Hey, just because some people in PVP are cowardly, no-skill hacks, doesn't mean we all are.

It does make it fun beating those cowards though, but since the update trying to beat the zerg is harder than ever.

I did not buy the IC DLC, too much PvP for my taste, and I'm a single player coming from the previous ES games.
Not sure if I should level the other 2 characters as well. But I'll definitely get any PvE DLC as soon as they're out.

I had it via sub, and normally I don't care for PvP (I die. A lot) but due to the fast respawn, the monsters interupting the PvPing, and the closeness of everything (IC has a smallish feel to it) I'm having a really good time.

Thank you for your reply, this is definitely an interesting thing to know about IC.. Hm, maybe I'll reconsider my decision and get it :)
I'm a PVE player who largely feels the same way about PVP and the IC DLC as @newtinmpls does (although I'm trying to learn to do some regular PVP in Cyrodiil as well). I've been really having a lot of fun in IC.

What I'd suggest if you're now considering buying it, though, is to buy a 1 month sub to ESO+ instead. That way you get 1500 Crowns (don't spend those Crowns) at only a slightly higher price than buying a Crown pack, and you get a whole month to try out IC and decide if you like it enough to spend the Crowns on buying it outright. If you do, then the 1500 Crowns you got with your 1 month sub can go towards the price of IC. If you don't, then you can hang on to those Crowns and maybe put them towards Orsinium in a few months (or use them on whatever else you might want to spend Crowns on).

Thanks a lot for this suggestion, I haven't thought about resubbing to try IC, this is great idea actually :)
(But only next month, this month I bought new carpets and other stuff for my apartment, so I'm basically broke^^)

From July until now, you cannot have done "everything possible". Not even close to that. And skipping dialogues doesn't count to "everything possible" either, imo.

What gets boring in PVE for me is the RNG. Specifically for the monster sets. +50 spindle runs and not even one helm.

RNG to get the helm at all.
RNG to get the right armour type.
RNG to get the right trait.
RNG to get the shoulder piece from gold chest choosing from like a dozen different monster set shoulders.
RNG to get the right armour type.
RNG to get the right trait.

    It's extremely tiresome.

same here but with skoria, but I got the bloodspawn helm 2-3rd run :(

Exactly how I watch Pvp unfold, as I play 10-16 hrs/day & 7 days. You must be XBox EU lol.

I'm not a Pvp fan, so I travel the wilds of Cyro often being ganked to (yes, I'm actually saying this honestly) attempt to WATCH the calamities unfold.
I spent several hours the other day hidden on a keep roof (dispatching the Mage defender who respawned every 10 minutes as required) so I could watch the keep change hands 3 times.
Nobody from either side ever came all the way upstairs, no one on a lower level ever saw my little squishy.
They knocked down 3 walls around me, rebuilt them, & I sat & watched them, wishing I was interested in being a (strong & useful) Pvp player to earn ganking points with numerous opportunities.
I get no XP for this, and I sipped Laphroaig Triple Wood all the while, but the mechanics of how the (AD & Pact) teams went about the sacking/re-sacking fascinated me.
Eventually I signed out and ESO transported me back to Pact'ville whilst offline...an annoyance, but such is life.
