confirmed by Gina on latest ESO Live.

So please rest your complaints (there are some people out there....I'm watching you) regarding raising vet ranks on DLC somewhere else.

This is good news to many. They also mentioned expanding gear with Orsinium so that's also great!

The only info we have is that all VR16 sets will be nerfed on release of Orsinium to what ever VR14 sets were one week before Orsinium.

Also new VR18 sets will be what VR16 sets are now and available for only 50,000 mats, 1 million RNG containers and 1000 motif fragments plus a special random material while crafting will be shafted.

Also a new horse will be in the crown store and a new pet.

Expect some stuttering, lag spikes, server crashes, fps drops, longer loading screens and the looking for group tool to still be broken.

Even if they don't raise the level cap they will still find a way to nerf current VR16 sets to make the new sets worth grinding for...and starting all over again..

Just like they did to most of the crafted and VR12-14 sets.

I caught this...it was good to hear but did anyone catch the other reference when the response to how long it takes to create one zone vs Orsinium?

It sounded like a major zone with "dailies" and crafting motifs, which would seem to be a grind intensive content upgrade if progression isn't level based. Or maybe this begins the removal of VR levels and this talk of seasonal gear

Exactly what is needed in this game. A pve zone with dalies, as dynamic repeatable events do not exist.

While this needs to be addressed with caution, keep in mind that the reason why V12-14 sets (mostly dropped sets and pvp sets) are not BIS anymore IS hugely part due to their level cap. When Orsinium comes out, the current V16 sets (including craftable sets) will be viable for max level characters as its armor/weapon power is still competitive (unless they explicitly NERF specific sets, then that's a whole different scenario).

This is a start at the very least, and still too early to call doom and gloom for the current sets to be obsolete. We do not know what is going to happen with the current v16 sets. We do not know what new sets are going to be added. All we can say (you and I both, and others on this forum) or do is speculate, and that information will be relay to us closer to the end of the year.

You just know they're going to introduce some other new mechanic/gear that makes current IC stuff completely worthless.

Or alternatively, we're going to get slammed when DB/TG stuff comes out.

For this one they don't need to. It will be a step up similar to the step up for IC, just without the PvP.

For those people that are not aware, it has been mentioned before by ZOS that they are entertaining the idea of SEASONAL GEAR (also mentioned previously on this thread). Gear grind is not new in MMOs, and how zos implements the idea of seasonal gear is anyone's game.

So for those saying "well i'm sure there will be some other gear grind", all I want to say is, "that has already been confirmed that ZOS will possibly be implementing seasonal gears!".

So, the game will become nothing more than constantly 'chasing the dragon' of whatever newly released gear fits in with s form.

Meh. Not that it really matters one way or the other... but, I will believe THAT when I see it and I don't particularly care what Gina said. ZoS has changed their position and their statements on more things than I can count since the game rolled, heck even since before it rolled, so I have learned to never count on anything projected until I actually see it in game.

Season Gear was introduced as a concept as far back as spring 2014 and again during the Guild Summit when Paul Sage discussed the introduction of the Champion System and how they intended to account for ranks and itemization - so nothing whatsoever NEW about this. If anything it is a tired carrot they periodically go back to every time people gripe about current gear system.

This. Believe it or not, some players enjoy playing solo. Also, going by the Craglorn experience, along with the crappy LFG tool, finding a group is a task in itself.
