"SLOW" BUG

So anyone else getting this bug where all of a sudden you can't move at the correct speed? It's like your character is stuck in tar. No it isn't the run/walk toggle either. Sometimes dodge rolling gets rid of it. Otherwise the only thing that works is to zone into a loading screen.

Seems to me what is happening is the bosses in the sewers that have some kind of a brilliant "slow effect" when you are in their AoE (Don't get me started as to how stupid I think this new mechanic is because you can't even dodge roll out of it and isn't that the point in dodge rolling) sticks on you after the fight. It feels exactly like the aoe slow effect is lingering on your character.

Obviously this bug sucks when you are deep in the sewers or IC. Might as well just commit suicide at that point because your character is a sitting duck.

    Yes, the speeds seem linked to the lag (Memory leak?) for me and are not consistent.

    Sprint speed changes time to time so much that I slotted Rapid Maneuvers just to make up for the "Tar Patch".
    On horse its even worse, I have been sprinting on horse with Rapid maneuvers and it looks like I am running in place.

    This last patch has made the game honestly almost unplayable due to the lag.

    Doesn't really seem to be tied to lag for me. When it happens my ping and fps are fine. But it almost always seems to happen after getting stuck in this new Boss AoE mechanic which "slows" your character's movement.

    I have also noticed that Rapids sometimes gets rid of it. That or dodge rolling. But most of the time you have to either die or slowly make your way to loading screen. Which sucks hardcore when you are in IC because that basically means dying or leaving the zone.

    This happened to me, and I had to log out to get rid of it.

    I have gotten that a few times on console. I thought it was just lag. but sometimes it's the reverse. i will be walking (not running and no RM) and my toon will do a quick walk like he has to hit the can.

    Well it seems like this is effecting a few people, but not everyone. Which means that it's unlikely to get fixed anytime soon. I am curious if it's only happening in Cyrodiil/IC

    Go to craglorn and get hit by scorpions.
    Watch as snare stacks and stacks and stacks.
    Make sure you have a speed buff lol.
    Its like...
    speed x0.6 ...get hit x0.6 ...get hit x0.6 ...get hit x0.6 ...get hit x0.6 ...get hit x0.6....= 4% movement speed.
    So you can imagine IC after getting hit by multiple snares all at once.
    That's what it feels like to me anyway.

    Starting combat with another NPC or mob sometimes helps for me (I also have this issue from time to time).

    this slow thing, it hits me with EVERY BLOODY fight. Lasts until fight is over. Makes me move 'slightly slower' than normal speed when I use things like crippling grasp or twisting path. it gets even (hellishly, stupidly) more so when they do any type of snare. boss fights are one hell of a pain, ESP in pledges, since now the boss does snares as well as the 'new improved combat slowness'

    I don't know if this is some new attempt to slow us down cuz ya, everyone *** knows, slow motion combat(while enemies move @ normal speed) during stupid lag and being hit with huge aoe's is super fun.

    Please ffs remove this stupid new 'combat makes you run in slow motion' ***.

    Yeah I get this too, but......

    You know what really makes me mad, ok with the new bosses in IC (Imperial city) they drop thier red circles, so you dive roll to get out of them, only to not even move out of the circle because you are moving like pond water (as in not moving at all or barely, like at a snails pace) because it is like you are snared even though you are not, so what do you do, you dodge roll again, now with the dodge roll stacking this Stamina cost aint cheap and even so you still have to move out (as in your still in the damn red circle, WTH) all the while still moving slowly while taking damage. that right there is just plain rediculous, If I dodge roll and use my Stamina to get out and I am using medium armor I should be out of the red in one roll... not two. One. Hell I should be clear across the room with two dodge rolls. stupid just stupid.

    Fix it ZOS. Fix it Now.

    If ZOS is gonna institute crap combat cost scaling for like Blocking (0 stamina recovery) and Dodge roll (33% stamina cost each additional roll) then I am gonna hold thier feet to the fire.

    It's snares which are bugged atm.

    You can counter this by using rapid manouvers or shuffle (medium armor skill evasion's morph) or purge if you are magicka build (or templar purge if you are a templar obviously)

    Very annoying indeed.

    It's called "walking bug". The fastest way to get rid of it is to die and resurrect.

    Their logic for their mobility finite state machine has been butchered and there are several bad states you can end up in. One such being moving at normal speed with 0 stamina regen because the code thinks you are sneaking or sprinting when you are not.

    The "thinks you are sprinting" also has the fun side effect of not letting you attack until you sprint for a bit and then go back to regular speed to jog the FSM back into regular states.
    Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

    I've tried sprinting as well to no avail. I suppose it may work sometimes like dodge rolling or popping Rapids, but it hasn't worked for me personally.
