[BUG] Medium Armor Agility Passive not granting 12% increased Weapon Damage

This bug is absolutely crippling stamina builds right now. When wearing a 5 pc set of medium armor, you're supposed to get the passive for 12% increased weapon damage, but only the character sheet and tooltips are reflecting this. The weapon damage output is remaining constant even after switching out the 5th piece of medium armor for another light or heavy piece with the same amount of Stamina on it. See testing and results below from @Asayre
Asayre wrote: »
The weapon damage increase from the Agility passive in the Medium Armour skill line results in a change in the weapon damage on the character sheet and a change in the abilities tooltip value however the actual damage dealt does not reflect this.

The testing is done in Cyrodiil and with the aid of Foundry Tactical Combat. The attacker is equipped with 4 pieces of the Armour Breaker set and a 2H axe. In fact any medium armour will work, it's just what I had handy. All equipment is V16 and legendary. The weapon damage shown in the character sheet is 1700 (=1571 (2H axe) + 129 (Shield Breaker 4 piece)). Attacker's stamina pool is 11849. The tooltip value for Wrecking Blow is 4567. Attacker's focus is 100 (base focus). Target has 18552 physical resists. The actual damage recorded is 1645. This is in line with expectations because damage in Cyrodiil is halved and the mitigation provided by the target's resistance is 27.95% ( (18552-100)/660 ). Thus the calculated damage is

4567 [Tooltip] * 0.5 [Battle Spirit] * (1-0.2795) [Physical resistance] = 1645 [Calculated damage]

When an extra piece of Armour Breaker is equipped, the weapon damage on the character sheet is increased to 1904 (=1700*1.12). This correctly reflects the 12% increase in weapon damage due to the Agility passive. Attacker's stamina pool has also increased to 12270. The Wrecking Blow tooltip now reads 4960. Using the same calculation as above, we expected

4960 [Tooltip] * 0.5 [Battle Spirit] * (1-0.2795) [Physical resistance] = 1786 [Calculated damage]

But the actual damage recorded is only 1669.

I've verified that the tooltip value of Wrecking blow accurately reflects the increased weapon damage. From previous testing without ever using 5 pieces of medium armour I found that the tooltip value of Wrecking blow is

Wrecking blow tooltip value = 0.154 * ( Stamina + 10.48 * Weapon Damage)

In the first case with only 4 pieces of Medium Armour the calculated Wrecking Blow tooltip is 4568 while in the second case it is calculated to be 4962. Both these values match favourably with the actual tooltip value.

So to reiterate, the Agility passive in the Medium Armour skill line correctly increases weapon damage by 12% and this change is reflected in the tooltip value for a skill however the actual damage dealt does not reflect this.

This really needs addressing soon. Myself and several others were able to duplicate the results from what I've seen over at tamrielfoundry.

Also take a look at the 'Precise Strikes' passive from the CP-tree. It doesnt effect Vigor criticals (instead it is effected by the 'Elfborn' passive)

That's just selfishly asking for a buff. Dualwield skills are working correctly and are not bugged if you overlook some very minor stuff and after this fix I will pull very decent DPS with Dual Wield.

Fixing this is equivalent to a 7% damage increase.

But def not with Rapid strikes ;)

Rapid Strikes does low damage because of its 1.3s channel..i guess appropriate would be 1s with the same dmg as it does now.

Wow, this explains a LOT. Thanks for discovering the issue. Here's hoping they fix it quick. Are the other passives for medium armor still working, or are they broken as well?

(I wouldn't mind if they fixed the utterly ridiculous Wrecking Blow while they are at it)

that is due to animation cancelling, which is a "feature" that ZOS doesn't count as exploitation.

Well the problem with Animation cancelling is:

DCUO is not even playing at endgame any longer unless you can Animation cancel. As all new content is based off people cancelling animations.

Thats the problem I have with it.

Sooner or later Zeni will start making encounters that if u miss a cancellation you end up eating the deck.

Also if they want us to cancel the skills, why put an animation on the skill in the first place, it's a waste of dev time and money

Hope this does get fixed :) Has been happening the past 2 weeks for me. Noticed that all passives tell me a % increase, but the Agility one says nothing despite having a set of 5 pieces of medium armour.

In 1.6 you could clearly see when the Wblow goes of, now when I spam it I never know when it hits, it feels like there is a "delay" with the hit, havent tested it a lot tho.

First of all, wrecking blow can not be animation cancelled. What you're seeing is lag

2nd of all... Have you even played DCUO lately? They did a big patch about a year ago that "fixed" animation canceling, since people like you were complaining about it. They standardized all animations, gave every weapon a cast bar, added "weapon mastery" and essentially made every class play the same. It destroyed the combat mechanics, balance, pvp and uniqueness of all classes. Many people left after that update since the only reason they were playing was because dcuo had such a fun and fast paced combat style, that is no longer the case. Dcuo is a horrible example, they still haven't recovered from their terrible decisions and is probably the worst example to use as a case to remove animation cancelling. Zos has nothing to gain by removing animation cancelling and everything to lose, besides, animation cancelling in ESO, isn't even close to how in depth it was in dcuo. Dcuo required jump cancels, phantom triangles and actually took a long time to master, in ESO, it takes about 2 minutes to master animation cancelling.

If you want a game that has a slow paced, old school RPG feel to it, FFxiv is a great game, it feature a fun global cool down on all abilities, I'd be playing that if I didn't enjoy ESO's combat so much

As said, for me its been happening for about 2 weeks, so before the IC patch. I don't know if it did this before then because I only just recently swapped to levelling medium armour.
