PvP help question about alliances!

Hello,
I been playing on PVP for a while, pretty much since the game has been released, too which I have also been playing Ebonheart Pact only!
I recently made a new character under a different Alliance. I went to log on after reaching the desired level and I was unable, it said something about a character already registered online in PVP, so I am unable to use a different Alliance!
So if I understand from what I read in the game, once you have a character registered to an Alliance PVP, you cannot change it? Which if so, this is majorly stupid and messed up. I wanted to change to try a different side and kill some friends that I have on the game as a laugh, doing some battles with them, but we cannot!
When I created a new character, all the achievements was reset and everything, so nothing carried over which I found was insanely STUPID and I should have the option to carry over or something because there is far to many and I would like to work on them some more being able to gain all the achievements I can! Diablo 3 example I create a new character and achievements are still there, and now these two issues with this game is making me extremely angry, including the normal other problems (Stopped loading the launcher in Steam Windows 10, random game closing ever 20mins, random crashing about the same time etc etc)
So does anyone know a work around for the PVP? Would I need to buy a bran new game, register as a different Alliance JUST to play against friends?
