When it comes to the districts, I found that once you've figured out the placement and behaviour of the mobs, it's quite soloable and fun.
When it comes to the sewers, then I tend to agree with you, there are too many mobs down there and it's impossible to solo.
I like to play in groups, big or small, but the real "ninja stealth strategic" approach that I enjoy most in IC is impossible to practice in groups, decision to hide/unhide, attack or not, etc... must depend on you and you alone for the thrill of it.
OP, f you create a thread asking for opinions you should explain why you do so, what is your opinion about it and why this is a concern to you.
How do you solo the sewers ? I can take 3 mobs at a time, 4 sometimes, but the packs are usually more than that and with the new rules for stamina management, permablocking + AOE is not an option anymore. So... how do you do that ?
I can solo quite happily through the sewers and above ground. I can take down a dolman (just) and have got one of those big buggers who carries the flags down to 50%...not quite mastered him yet (let alone the ones that heal themselves for silly amounts )
If you can take 3 at a time you should be golden. The situations where you need to take on more than that are few and far in between, usually you can split those groups up if you attack at an opportune time - you then pull only half.
I like the sewers just as they are, if soloing I pick and choose what I take on all the while listening for the thrum thrum of the approaching patrol boss
